Modern mechanical charged $120 service fee but provided NO information on what is wrong with my water heater and NO repair options even though my unit is only three years old. The only option they offered is installing a new 30 gallon heater for a whooping $3000 with no information on the water heater they are planning to install. Avoid them.

Customer Service Representatives for this company are very pleasant and efficient, and the technicians are great. Only caveat is that the techs try selling you all kinds of extra equipment you didn’t inquire about when you scheduled the visit. In addition, the maintenance inspections you pay $99 extra for yearly are not always honored. Today, they arrived, after I spent a half hour on the phone setting up the inspections before the end of the year when our maintenance contract is up. So... three guys showed up today... one for each service... plumbing, electrical and HVAC. They managed to sell us on new, wired fire alarms, a steam humidifier system (mostly for our many musical instruments), and a new water pressure valve, all of which we deemed necessary. Our very expensive, new HVAC still will not receive 5G Internet... but that’s another issue, mentioned below. I would give only 2 stars for the Service Manager who charged us $300 wrongly to fix the wi-fi connection on our $9,000 Honeywell HVAC they installed in January 2021. They did not fix it, but this particular Service Manager insisted that we pay, regardless. He was very condescending and rude in that he told me we could get the weather on our phones or elsewhere. One of the perks to getting such an expensive HVAC system, which the same guy sold us on, is that you can read both the indoor and outdoor temperatures on the HVAC console itself. Well, our “new” system cannot receive the weather and will not communicate with the Honeywell phone app, as it’s supposed to do... another perk that we cannot use. Verizon had upgraded our Internet and he blamed them when our device could not pick up our wi-fi signal. You might think this is no big deal, but the system was likely manufactured in 2018, which could be why it couldn’t pick up the Verizon upgrade to 5G. That said, I had Verizon on the phone three times, regarding this, and they explained that the upgrade was also designed to pick up lower frequencies. There is more to this story, as the HVAC had other issues before this, including names of rooms typed in that said manager insisted I had typed, which I had not. This led me to believe that the system had been previously owned. When I asked him how old the system was, he said 2020. However, you can scroll through the specs on the console to see that it was released in 2019. Said HVAC still makes chirping noises in our basement when it the heat is running, which said manager insisted was my imagination. If you know what “Gaslighting” means, this guy is a consummate example. He said it might be the birds on our roof. He made me feel stupid, and got his way. (I might add that this company DOES NOT waive their dispatch fee (now over $100) when work is performed, as Michael & Son and other companies do. What is more, we paid over $300 yearly, so we could receive free maintenance checks, which no one had contacted us about performing that year.)

The technicians William and Joey were very knowledgeable and professional. William tried to repair our Water Heater, but when the problem recurred and the parts were not available, we had to get the heater replaced. They installed the water heater the day it was made available by the supplier and Joey installed it with additional updates to make it compliant to the county code. He tested the system after installation and when a problem was discovered in the supplier provided part (plumbing), he immediately replaced it. The scheduling was great - got text messages of when and who (technician) was on the way to our home to address the issue. I was pleased that they happily answered all the questions I had during the whole process. Really happy with the outcome.
