  Just about nothing in our experiences with Mitchell went right. We bought a new heat pump a little over two years ago (spring, 2013). It didn't pass city mechanical or electrical inspections after several tries (over 2 years!), and I'm still not certain it has passed. I was told by their office that someone would be out to inspect on a particular date, waited, called the city and found that they had never received a call from Mitchell. It took more than a year to get the fan to work properly. Last spring the unit leaked freon, and they took several tries to find the leak - for one of their visits I waited at home an entire day and no one ever came, even though I called in the afternoon to check and was assured someone would be out. I made an appointment a couple of weeks in advance at one point and still had to wait until after 6 pm for someone to show up and do a quick fix, promising to come back later. This fall they called, asking us to sign up for a service agreement - we naturally went with someone else - who is coming out tomorrow to look for yet another freon leak. Even though we have an extended warranty, we've still had to pay a flat rate for service visits. To sum it up, their incompetence was surpassed only by their seeming indifference to customer satisfaction.

  I have worked for Mitchell Heating and Air for over 20 years. I have dealt with both customers that have posted the bad reviews. Mr. Forsbrey and I have spoke on several occasions and have worked everything out, he is still a current customer. Unfortunately, once someone posts a review (in the heat of the moment) they can not go back in and remove it. I also worked diligently with the Chestnut's to resolve their matter, which has been taken care of. Unfortunately in that case, it was more about scheduling issues, they travel a lot, and of course we have certain daily schedules to tend to and always try to accommodate our customers the best we can. Satisfied customers are our biggest asset, and we strive to make that happen with every customer who entrusts our company to be there in their time of need.

  I called Mitchell when my heat went out late one evening, the technician arrived within an hour and had the heat up in no time. The technician was very knowledgeable and polite. I will call them again when the occasion arises.
