  Jim has maintained our ac/ heating system for 32 years.. He is dependable and genuinely cares about maintaining our system. He has come to our home many times to make sure our unit was working well.

  Whoever wrote that negative review for this company must have just gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. I have used Jim's services at least 30 times in the past 10 years, both for my own home and a number of rental properties in South Austin. Without exception, in every case, Jim has identified the problem and resolved it on the spot. Even more importantly, his charges are always consistently less than any other service I've used. I quickly learned that it was never necessary to ask for an estimate in advance, because his final bill is ALWAYS waaay less than I would have expected. Jim Meeks is a one-guy company, so when you call you won't be speaking with some young lady on the payroll.. it will be Jim. And it won't be some trainee showing up in a fancy van. No it will be Jim himself, armed with decades of experience with A/C systems and pride and integrity in his work. Most recently we had a difficult issue with our own home system. In a noble attempt to save us money, Jim made 7 separate house calls to pinpoint the offending component in our system. When he replaced the evaporator fan (a 20 year old component) and it didn't resolve the issue, Jim insisted on reimbursing me for the cost of the new fan (although it remains in our system). That is his level of integrity. Just tonight (end of August, sweltering temperatures), about 6:30 in the evening, I received a call from a tenant saying their A/C had quit working. I placed a called to Jim, assuming it would have to be, at best, the following day before he could come. Instead, he immediately interrupted his dinner, made the 20 mile drive from his house west of Dripping Springs to the South Austin residence, and had the system up and running in short order (no additional charge for after hours service!) I can't recommend Jim highly enough, and am sorry to see that someone has chosen to take out their own personal issues by leaving a bad review.

  After a different AC guy raked me over the coals trying to fix my 5 year old AC system, and then told me I would have to pay $3k for a new air handler, I said "no thanks" and proceeded to call Meeks. Mr. Meeks came out promptly, troubleshot the problem to a faulty circuit board in the air handler, ordered a new board under warranty, replaced it and it has been running great ever since. He know his stuff, and delivers a high level of service and integrity. No one else touches my AC from now on!
