Long story, short: We would NOT recommend McLaughlin Plumbing & Electric due to Warren’s inability to completely address our water issues, his poor customer service, poor communication and unprofessional manner. If you are looking for someone you can trust that won’t make you feel taken advantage of - keep looking. We own a house in Marlinton that we rent out (we lived in the house for 5 years before moving away and visit often). Last Friday, our guests arrived and there was no water! We were cautious but hopeful when we spoke to Warren’s wife (who, in contrast, was very polite, professional). Warren wasn’t able to go out until Saturday morning. It was 10pm Saturday night that he texted us to say that water wasn’t back on but he’d be out “in the morning” to finish the job. Fine - we get it, things happen and it took longer than he expected.We spent a stressful Sunday waiting to hear from him - when 6:30 rolled around we reached out to Warren who texted us “it poured rain all day” and he would go out Monday morning “regardless of the weather”. Our guests were the ones to tell us he never made it out on Sunday! He did come out on Monday and completed the job but by that time our guests had left. Ultimately, it cost us $1200 AND the 3 nights that we refunded to our guests. I wish this was the end of the story. Fine, it cost us more than we expected but it was a weekend and took longer than initially thought. We paid our bill and wanted to move on with our life chalking up the experience to poor communication on a weekend that maybe he had other plans. Fine. BUT that’s not the end of this story. If it was, we would not be writing this review. The following week, we went to check on the house and discovered that the water pressure was much lower than it had been prior. We felt after paying $1200, our water should be, at least, the same as before (maybe it’s too much to ask for it to be better than it was prior). We called Warren to come back out to take a look. What a disappointment - he was nothing but rude, condescending and ridiculing. He did not seem concerned that our water pressure was lower than acceptable nor did he believe us when we told him that the water pressure used to be better. He all but called us a liar and refused to seriously address the problem (or even just say “I don’t know”). Although we initially called him because we had no water, he created a new problem and then refused to take it seriously. He also handled himself in a completely inappropriate, unprofessional manner in the following ways: 1. He was inappropriately cussing while speaking with us (and we aren’t afraid of a little cussing but his was completely off-putting - not the somewhat acceptable lighter forms but the “reserved for your fishing buddy,” unacceptable for someone you really don’t know well - let alone a customer, kind) 2. He was rude to our elderly neighbors who graciously troubleshooted the system before we called him AND provided water throughout the weekend to our amazingly understanding guests (be rude to us, okay, but DO NOT be rude to our AMAZING neighbors) 3. He was smoking in our cellar/pump house - again, super unprofessional 4. We believe he seriously rutted our yard going down to the well house (he denied it so who knows) and going out our driveway (which we watched him do). Ultimately, this was such a (expensive) bummer! We are reasonable, good, and honest people looking for a service provider in Pocahontas County and just hoping not to be taken advantage of. I guess we will have to keep looking as we will NEVER use McLaughlin Plumbing & Electric again.

Warren does just about all of our plumbing, electrical and all around maintenance at my place of employment.. He understands that as a restaurant there are things we need done right away, and we can not be open without. He works very hard and sometimes over night, all night on things for us when they need immediate attention. We can send Warren a message and get a very quick response with a time frame of when he will be there & he is there. Weekends, holidays, You name it. There’s been nights he’s worked until almost day light, missing out on dinner with his wife & children to get us back up and running. We greatly appreciate all you do for us, your quick response time, and fixing all our hiccups no matter what they are! Thanks Mcclaughlin Electric & Plumbing LLC! You get 5 stars from me.

Thank you very much for your business and your recognition!! I do my best to get the urgent matters as fast as I can, as cheap as I can, and with the utmost integrity! The Greenbriar Grill has been a faithful customer since the first day of my business and is in my opinion a very big reason I have been as successful as I have been so far. I am always a message (or call) away if service or wifi permits!! Haha! Again mucho gracias and I will always do whatever it takes to make sure that the doors stay open and sign on! :)
