  Receptionist did not tell me I would have a charge for a service person to come out to give me estimate. Much to my surprise it cost me over $70.00 to have him look under my unit and tell me everything was fine. OUCH! Live and Learn

  I cannot speak for the quality of his work because I didn't ask him to do it, but I can certainly speak for his character: dishonest. He gave me a quote about a month ago for replacing my AC and installing additional insulation in my attic. The prices he told me were $6k for the AC and $1100 for insulation. I asked if he could do both for $6800, and he said yes. When I was ready to start, he brought out a contract for the AC only that was over $8k and told me I needed a more powerful AC with more tons. I told him I still wanted the same tons as before and I would pay the agreed $6800 for both the AC and the insulation. Then he denied it by saying the $6800 was for the AC only and the $1100 for insulation is separate. I immediately refused to hire him. There were other companies that gave me lower quotes. The only reason I asked him to do it was because he could do both the AC and insulation together. If he didn't want to do it, he could simply say no rather than lying about the price we agreed earlier. Reply to owner's response: When I declined his more powerful system and asked for the cheaper solution at the beginning, he agreed. He might be over 60 and had a bad memory, but I clearly remembered the price he gave me. Also I clearly remembered asking him if he could do both for $6800 and he said yes. He was the one insisted on the $8K+ system a month later. If he indeed thought my house needed more powerful system, why did he agree on the cheaper system in the beginning. His reply just showed how dishonest he was. I'm glad to find out that I'm not the only customer who felt that way.

  We are sorry to hear that this client completely misunderstood what we had discussed. Unfortunately, language was a barrier in this situation from the beginning before any disagreement occurred. We would never agree to go down that much on a job. This client claims that we agreed to install the A/C and put in insulation for $6,800. Considering the job that was being quoted, it would not have been reasonable on our part to agree to drop the price that much. After some discussion with the attending technicians present during the service call, we agreed that the size of the system she had in the house appeared to be too small. We decided that it would be in her best interest to have a properly sized A/C and that we would write up a quote, discuss it with the client, and ask for her consent and signature if she agreed to the job. We spent a lot of time measuring her house and inputing every detail including window sizes, door sizes, and ceiling heights in order to determine if she did indeed need a bigger A/C. We were ready to do the job and had no intention of upsetting the client or cheating her in any manner. We simply did not agree to do the entire job for $6,800 but would have been glad to have worked out a solution that everyone could have agreed to.
