  Jacob Bros. installed our current heating and cooling unit a little over 4 years ago. We have had multiple problems with the system as well as the lackluster service. They have sent out repairmen who were not familiar with the system and who would create another problem that would then require another service call with a different serviceman. We signed up for their "maintenance" program so that we would not have the problem of the "suddenly you don't have heat or air". The repairman was out about 4 weeks ago. About two weeks after the "maintenance" visit the humidifier stops working. We're going to have to pay over a $100 for a $2 plastic piece. Then while we are waiting for first the humidifier part to come in- and then for the visit to be scheduled the whole heating system ceases to work- again. So we are home- and our primary heating is not functioning! All of this after the "maintenance" visit. Not only is Jacob Bros. very expensive their work is substandard!

  I don't know if the problem is management or the technicians. I was told the condenser fan was frozen and needed to be replaced $700. Fan + capacitor online were about $175. I turned the fan by hand and apparently "unfroze" the thing and lo and behold the fan runs fine. Be Careful and get a second opinion.

  If you are reading reviews about this company trying to decide if you should use them, DO NOT DO IT. I had a whole AC unit/heat pump put in less the 5 years ago, costing a lot , and we are most likely about to have another one put in. I have had nothing but problems with this unit. It has cost us more money then it should have since it has been put in. We had a one year labor warranty, and once it was over and after 7 times coming to fix things in that year, they won't stand behind their labor or equipment. I would stay FAR away from this company!!!!!! Not happy at all, I wouldn't give them 1 star, but I had to so I could post this. I decided to call Jacob brothers to talk to them again about my problems. I found out they "joined" thomas and galbraith. So I talked to them. They came out to give us a second opinion and ended up fixing our problem for less then what it should have been. I'm very happy they wanted to try and make up for all we had been through with Jacob brothers I would never trust Jacob brothers but I will use thomas and galbraith again. For now they have our trust, I'm hoping they keep it. Time will tell!
