Jackson Aire installed a fan motor in my unit Sept of 2019. In May of 2020 the fan stopped working so I contacted Mr Jackson and he came to my house to check it and he said the fan was working when he turned the unit on. He said he was still going to send someone out because he needed to fix the wiring in the unit because it was not done properly ( his guy did the wiring when he changed the fan) and that the unit was sitting angled. Then the next day I realized the fan was again not working. I contacted Mr Jackson and sent him a video and he told me to try to turn the unit on and spin the fan to see if it would engage. I did this and the fan did not engage. He told me that a tech would be out on Tuesday. He said based on his preliminary check I had a bad defrost board and it would roughly cost me $400. Shocked by what he said I had someone else come out that Monday and within 3 minutes he said that it was the fan motor. He checked the defrost control board and there was 120 volts coming out of the board and 240 volts going to the fan so the motor was bad. I sent this information to Mr. Jackson in a text and asked him if the fan motor that HIS company installed was under warranty. His response was “OK”. What does OK mean? I told him that I thought he had gotten the fan motor locally in Greenville and then there was no response! So ultimately I paid the company from Greenville to replace the motor that Jackson had installed when clearly it should have been under warranty. It was very unprofessional. This company is going out to work on people’s houses and they are not providing good followup. Instead they are trying to charge for problems created by their employees. I have known Mr. Jackson for a few years and he has always been respectful up until when he just didn’t respond back to me but I can’t help but think that there are people out there that aren’t knowledgeable and are getting taken advantage of by this company. It seems to me that when Mr Jackson came out he should have checked the voltage and he too would have been able to verify that the fan was the problem verses trying to charge me for a defrost board. The bottom line is I had to pay to fix something that should have been covered by them and that is just poor customer service.
