  First experience with this business and I won't use or recommend them. Even with a 3 hour window to arrive at my home, they were 30 minutes late. Young man was pleasant but lacked knowledge to repair my furnace. Even stated he was unfamiliar with unit. Unable to take it apart. Stated it was a singular welded piece. It was actually held together with visible screws. He looked at a couple things, stuck a brush into burners, told me I needed to replace furnace. He adjusted the amount of gas flow which he stated was too high due to construction near me. Couldn't say what was wrong with it. Within an hour of his departure, the furnace wasn't working. I called office to report problem. They stated a salesman would contact me to purchase a new furnace. This never happened. I contacted another repair company the next morning. They were at my home within an hour. Took furnace apart with ease, recognized the problem and replaced the faulty part. Also told me the furnace, while older, was in good condition and didn't need to be replaced. I called Interstate the following day to request a refund for the labor portion of the bill I had paid. Was immediately turned down. Disagreed with my every word, had multiple excuses. I had requested a refund of $168. She would only offer $50. This isn't acceptable.

  As we discussed on the phone Susan, the tech followed the steps and did find a few different problems that he adjusted and cleaned out. If you had called us when the unit went out later, we would have come back out and addressed it at no charge under a service call follow up. You were offered a discount that was fair. The technician did the work he charged for and that was fair. The next gentleman that came out would have found the same issues and would have had to adjust them before finding the part failure. Good luck in the future

  I had an American Home Shield order for a furnace that went out in the middle of January in upstate NY. The ladies in the office were very helpful keeping me updated on my work request. Ernie was a professional and efficient worker. I have no complaints on the work they did. Extremely happy to have a working furnace again. Would recommend to anyone.

  My furnace stopped working after midnight on a Friday, on one of the coldest nights this winter. After trying several places who advertised 24 hour emergency service, no one could come until the following morning. I ended up calling Interstate Heating and Cooling, and the technician came pretty quickly, given the weather conditions. Diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and professionally. He was very courteous, and explained the issue and what he was going to do. This wonderful service has earned them a new customer!
