Mike and his crew were extremely transparent throughout the whole process; I went with Hometown Comfort after price shopping the greater Spring Hill area and found them to be competitive with the others in the area, but they provided a sense of confidence that is priceless. Would recommend them for any and all HVAC related issues. The installation of the new unit went off without a hitch and they were very mindful of my time as well as theirs.

Homeowners beware - this company and specifically the owner, Mike, are a joke. Not only to they make promises they can not follow through on, but they will expect you to pay for work that is not complete. He is rude, unprofessional and a terrible communicator. Do yourself a favor, read the other reviews that also say this, and then read the terrible response he has made to them. You as the customer are always in the wrong according to him and that is not how business is supposed to work. Scroll on, there are so many good people out there and sadly for those of us that have worked with Mike and Hometown Comfort, this is not one of them.

      Response from the owner

Do you know it’s a sad day when customers won’t take responsibility for their own actions. Above said customer bought an investment property to flip in an economically lower area of town. Everything that had been done prior to us starting was done incorrectly starting from the bones of the structure. However when we do not provide all materials (i.e. doors) there are adjustments that had to be made such as trimming them so they would fit and also waiting on the correct doors because the ones the homeowner purchased opened the wrong way, trying to trim around windows that were installed crooked, and me having to wait on trim materials because I bought everything the supply house had in stock. All that takes extra time. But while we’re waiting on those things the calendar is still filling up and like everybody else in America right now can’t find additional people to hire. So when I say I’m going to be somewhere, we try our best to be there. But with that being said, When the homeowner does not communicate that other trades are going to be on site and essentially being in our way we can’t work. So when I schedule an entire day for us to be out at a job site and we get there and can’t work due to other trades it’s not my problem. Nowhere does it say that the customer “is always right”. Customer does not understand simple building processes. Will blame contractors for her lack of planning and/or experience. Customer stated that she has “Been doing this 10 years” yet you don’t have any consistent contractors to reuse because no one that has worked with you would choose to do it again. As for asking to be paid for work that could not be done, We actually discounted the invoice for this work that wasn’t finished.

I called Hometown Comfort after hours for a non emergency but needed them out ASAP. They called me back the evening I left a voicemail and confirmed they could be at my home the next morning. Once the technician came out he informed me he was testing things but needed to allow my condenser to unfreeze and he would need to reschedule me (of course I was a bit concerned). I got a call back from the office at this point and they stated they'd be back in about three hours. Once they came back, they diagnosed my problem fixed it at a VERY reasonable cost and didn't charge me for the two visits. I highly recommend this company.
