I had one guy come out and work on my older downstairs furnace this past March (2020). The freelancer was not able to fix the furnace; attempted with two separate calls..he then recommended Homer's River City...River City Tech came out while the furnace was then running...made a look over and said what he thought it could have been...sure enough about an hour after he left, the furnace went out... without issue, the tech came back out and stayed like 4+ hrs working on it; drained some water that came from clogged pipes....after he left this second time; the furnace went out after 12 hrs or so...same River City Tech said he was going to send out a more advanced tech..the advanced tech guy came out and after his evaluation based on the time the furnace had run (12 hrs); immediately recognized the issue was a clogged P-Trap. Advanced tech did the drain, and works like a charm for the rest of the season. The tech gave us some maintenance advice and done...all cost was like $250...and they could have easily up sold us or even charged us more which we would have paid without question.... Read some of the other reviews and my mouth dropped...cuz these guys were professional in every way...Good guys doing great work.

We contracted this company to install a new HVAC system less than 5 years ago. Just this week out heat pump failed to work and the thermostat went out, this is Not the 1st problem we have had. We spoke with the owner after we had atech out Friday with no resolution and still no heat. We then had to purchase space heaters to keep our house warm enough to not freeze pipes or pets. We were told originally we would have to wait until Monday for the parts to repair our system. The tech then called Sat morning and stated we would be able to get the part, but it would be an additional $100 charged to us to get the part. We are now exceeding $400 for labor and still NO HEAT. I asked Charlie if he would work with us as this was NOT the first time it failed to work properly. He stated to me" I still have to pay my employee, do you NOT want my tech to get paid??? WHAT?! SO HERE we are no heat and the lack of customer service leaves us in the COLD!!!!
Response from the owner
We installed a new Lennox Heat Pump system on 6/2/14. We have performed three service calls on the system since then. The first service call was on 4/18/17 we found a loose connection on the defrost control board not allowing the unit to come on. The charge for the service call was $92.50. The second service call was on 12/26/17 which we found the strip heat was bad. We replaced the strip heat which was under warranty and did not charge for the labor which was not under warranty. The third service call was on 2/8/19 which we found the heat pump was tripped on high pressure switch, a bad thermostat not bringing on the heat pump and the strip heat bad. Strip heat typically goes bad due to the filters not being changed regularly and that causes them to overheat and go bad. We advised the customer that the part had to be ordered from Lennox and we would not get it until Monday. I then talked to the customer on Saturday morning after they demanded that I do something and I gave them the option to have to pay the additional fee for Lennox to open to get the part that they needed. They elected to do so. So we went the Lennox warehouse to get the parts that they needed and had them installed on Saturday afternoon and when we left there heat was back up and running.

I can't say enough about these guys and the prompt service they provided us. There are many HVAC service companies in Lawrence, but almost none of them service mobile homes. The service rep I spoke with was friendly, and followed up with me with me promptly. I had to call 9+ other companies to finally reach these guys, and needless to say my ac was fixed at an affordable and convenient price! If you've got a mobile home, give these guys a call!
