Tricounty replaced a coil for my 5-ton central AC unit, and it was a disaster. For starters, they were supposed to arrive in the afternoon but showed up about 8:30am with no advance notice, which they were also supposed to provide. Company had a coil that matched specs for system, but it was 3" larger than the existing coil. Per the owner, they knew this in advance, but rather than order the right unit, they installed anyway. When they arrived to install the coil they could not get it through the attic door. In the process of forcing it into the attic they broke the attic door. A few hours into the work, a third guy arrived to help the first two. He was more experienced, and told me he was dispatched because the initial 2-man crew got in over their head. Fast forward a couple hours, I walked downstairs and found fiberglass insulation all over the floor, countertops, tabletops, carpet. It was also in the ducts. I quickly turned the AC off to prevent further blowing around of the hazardous fibers. Company promptly dispatched a cleanup crew to vacuum out the ducts with a special HEPA duct cleaning device to trap the fibers. This was the only thing they did right all day. Per owner, they knew they had a potential health hazard on their hands (breathing the floating fibers) so acted quickly. Five hours after they left I was still finding fiberglass clumps stuck in the ceiling ducts. They were supposed to clean the floors, countertops, tabletops etc but did not. They left sharp-edged pieces of sheet metal around the attic door and did not vacuum clean up clumps of insulation in the area they were working. Needless to say, this is the worst HVAC experience I've had in 30 years of home ownership.

Mr. Snyder - There were zero coils available for your exact dimension size you currently had in the house. Most houses we would be able to put this size coil in. Your house just happened to have the roof line right over the access which made less room. We were told by our guys that even if we would have gotten the exact size you currently had we probably would have had to pull the access too. You had said that your A/C company could not get their hands on that coil as well. When we found out about the problems on the job, we immediately sent out guys to clean the ducts. We also sent out professionals to repair the trim on the attic access. Our crew was asked to leave prior to being able to finish cleaning. After speaking with an owner of our company, we thought you were satisfied by the conversation. You were also credited a portion of the invoice to satisfy your concerns. We apologize for your experience.

Turned on the heater for the first time after a while and it wasn’t turning on. Nick was our service technician and he arrived within the scheduled window and systematically went through all of the possible reasons it wasn’t working and repaired the problem (without trying to recommend any major replacement). He was very detailed about explaining his steps along the way. Very thorough and professional. Very satisfied with TriCounty Air Care and will probably schedule a maintenance service with them BEFORE we turn on our AC again to make sure everything is set for the spring.

I have been dealing with Tri County Air Care since they replaced my system a few years ago. From the first encounter I was comfortable. I haven't used anyone since. They perform my semi-annual maintenance and answer any questions I have. Great value and wonderful service and I genuinely enjoy the people that I deal with. I get calls all the time from other vendors offering their services, but I will not switch.
