We have used High Efficiency for all our major plumbing and HVAC needs. We have had many large projects over the last 4 years to update and also replace most of our major systems in our restaurant. We have always been more than satisfied with the work and professionalism of the employees from the front office to the licensed plumbers handling the work. They have handled our smaller project with the same care and professionalism not matter the size. All work is professionally done and all installations have been of high quality. If you want quality work and professional representation , I highly recommend you call High Efficiency for any size project you have. You will not be disappointed.

I have put off writing this review for over a year in hopes that my troubles could be handled internally with High Efficancy- but I continue to have problems with them without resolution so I hope that this will deter others from using this company as the owners lack of professionalism is astounding. High Efficancy was hired well over a year ago to install both a mini split system and replace my heat and hot water boiler. I will say the mini split system was installed without issue. The problem was with the heat and hot water boiler. Prior to the gas line being run from the street the crew had arrived to start prep work- which seemed appropriate- the problem was they removed my entire heating and hot water system as prep! I returned home that day- in November- to find no heat and hot water. When I contacted the owner he initially said there was nothing he could do and blamed the gas company for not arriving on their estimated arrival date. When questioned why a crew would remove an entire heating system without an installed gas line- he did not have an answer and then blamed his office staff for scheduling the prep work too early. I was informed by the gas company that the line would be at least 2 weeks before it could be installed which was relayed to High Efficancy at which point they brought 2 small space heaters as a solution to heat my entire home. When asked about the hot water their reply was “Well we’ve all taken cold showers…I could put in a temporary heater but I will have to charge you $600 for the work”. 12 days of cold showers and little heat the line was finally run and the system completed. I’ll spare you the fight the ensued in order to try to get some compensation in the form of a bill reduction that still ended being unfair. Now almost 2 years later I receive a call from the town saying the gas, plumping and electrical inspections for the project were never completed! When High Efficancy was asked why they weren’t done when I was told they were- there was no answer. So not only was my heating and hot water removed from my house 12 days early in November- now I have been living with a gas system that was un inspected and possibly not safe. Please do yourself a favor and use a reputable company in town and not High Efficancy. Reply: - Thanks for checking in- as reported to the owner the temporary hot water system that was installed after refusal to pay for the correct fix for hot water was not operational. They did decrease the final bill only came after months of fighting with the owner and finally reporting seeking legal action. As for the system operations - it was not bled through properly and had several leaking valves that needed replacement

      Response from the owner

Dear Mr. McGrath, High Efficiency is very sorry that you are so unhappy with our service. We apologize for the confusion that occurred while trying to time our work with your new gas line being run to your home. Regarding your interactions with High Efficiency, we did try to set things right with you by giving you temporary space heaters so you had some form of heat while we tried to help resolve the bigger issue of getting gas run to your home. We also attempted to alleviate some of your discomfort by installing a temporary hot water heater so you would not have to suffer through cold showers. We apologize for missing the fact that all inspections did not occur in a timely fashion, we can see that all permits were applied and paid for during the timeline that the work occurred. When we were notified that there were still open permits, we immediately remedied our error. We did give you a credit of $1500 which, according to email communication between yourself and the owner of High Efficiency, was the amount that you requested. We regret that you are not satisfied with the service we provided. Again, we apologize for the frustration and inconvenience that you experienced working with High Efficiency. We wish you the best of luck. On another note, how is your heating system operating? We take pride in our level of craftsmanship and knowledge. Are your utility bills much lower? Let us know.
