Today (April 17) around 12:45pm heading east on Richmond Highway, my son was driving to accumulate hours for his permit so he is prepared for his driver’s test. We were in the outer lane and going the speed limit but the Heritage Contracting van behind us kept tailing us closely and wanted us to go faster. I had a bright neon ‘Student Driver’ magnet on the back of my car to notify drivers that my son is behind the wheel. However, that did not matter. After tailing us closely for a mile, the van immediately switched lanes and cut in front of my son so closely that it would have hit us if I didn’t tell my son to quickly brake. It’s unfortunate a company will hire inconsiderate and impatient people to drive their company van and representing them negatively.

I had a leak in my toilet in July 2017. My insurance referred Heritage Contracting Services to make the repairs. I watched the work done and observed the following: 1. Harold, the repair man lacked the skill; can’t correctly measure the sub-floor requiring him to cut a piece to cover a gaping hole on one side of the flange. 2. The same & last wax ring that was already depreciated because of repeated failures in installing & uninstalling the commode was used. Harold went to buy wax rings at least two times (might have been 3 times) because the wax rings continued to be messed up for his repeated failures in installing the commode. In the end, he installed 2 pieces of flange extender, which might have helped him install the commode. Apparently, he didn’t know that the flange must be in line or a quarter inch above the finished floor based on thickness of wax ring. When Bob Burr, project manager came after completion of the repair, I told him that Harold, the repair man didn’t know what he was doing; can’t correctly measure a sub-floor and used a depreciated not a fresh wax ring due to repeated failures to install the commode and I’m afraid the toilet may leak again! In August 2019, I had another leak and reported it to my insurance. I’m 100% sure that the leak occurred much earlier based on the rotted sub-floor. My insurance told me to let Bob Burr inspect the damage because there is a 3-year warranty on the 2017 repair so may have the repair at no cost. I told my insurance that I will have a problem with a conflict of interest if someone responsible for the work is also determining if the work was done correctly. My insurance also sent Mary, an adjustor to inspect the damage who concluded that the leak was caused by the job done by Heritage Contracting Services. Part of an email from my insurance; “Per Mary’s report, we have concluded that the cause of loss was due to an improperly installed wax seal which led to water damage in your home.” When Bob came for the inspection, he brought along Chris a construction supervisor at Heritage. I showed the sub-floor with the patched gaping hole and a picture of the depreciated wax ring used with a piece of the wax broken off. I took the picture after the tile was removed for mitigation work. I asked Chris loud enough for Bob to hear “if you were supervising the job, would this quality of work pass”, Chris answered “NO”. After the inspection, I called the insurance. Bob told them that he was not able to determine the cause of the leak; could be the repair job in 2017 or the commode. Despite telling Bob in 2017 that the Harold didn’t know what he was doing and complaining about the poor quality repair work, showing the sub-floor, a picture of the depreciated/broken wax ring, the judgement of Chris, and opinion of Mary, Bob can’t determine what caused the leak! Unbelievable! Bob offered to repair the water damage on the condition that I replace the commode. I called him and asked what is specifically defective with the commode, he can’t tell any, and so I refused the offer. And why do I trust a person who did not do a proper job the first time and can’t even determine if a job was done correctly and what caused the leak to do a repair work again and expect a different result?

Unsafe on the roads. They were too busy on their phones ,while driving a van, to stop at stop signs or use turn signals. Very unsafe!!
