Unfortunately this review has taken a year to write (was waiting to be out of their "warranty"), but here goes. The ONLY reason I'm granting anything more than 1 star is because the system was indeed installed and they DID come in pretty close to their estimated finish date and I feel it's only fair to offer some good with all the bad. Other than that, the pictures speak for themselves. The tech that was sent out to install my new heat pump in my in house I was building was named Duke. Seemed like a reasonably nice guy, however when he installed the gas furnace and consequently the LPG (liquid propane gas) kit, he forgot to re-secure the tabs which hold the funnels which direct the flame into the A-coil (see last photo with yellow circles before text screenshots). Instead, the directed the flame directly into the side of the box. This caused so much heat that it actually charred an envelope and paperwork the tech had left on top of the unit, and the fresh PVC fresh air inlet. Thankfully the system shut itself down before it did any more damage. Here's where things get really frustrating... I sent pictures to the tech (Duke) and called him to explain the situation. I told him that I think he forgot to bend the tabs over to secure the funnels and he agreed, but seemed to act like it wasn't really that big of a deal. He came out, secured the funnels and said it's "ready to go, but next time, I'll have to charge you for a service call". I was taken by surprise to say the least and told him that if it had been an issue with the unit itself, I would be okay with that, but this WAS A DIRECT RESULT OF HIS OVERSIGHT. At that point, I just wanted the guy gone. It was November and my family was cold and my brand new house now had heat. Unfortunately, the next few nights were sleepless because I was always worried about what happened. Finally I decided one night that I would call the State of Oklahoma HVAC inspector and seek their insight. After speaking with him, he asked me to send him pictures. The screenshots are the results of the conversation. Please note that the photos of the green wire (presumably a ground wire) were AFTER Duke "fixed" it and gave it the all clear. Not only did he not replace a very clearly burned and charred wire, he didn't even bother cleaning up any of the mess. This is when the inspector called Gauge Metal Fab to speak with them. The inspector told me he was concerned at first because the tech, Duke, wasn't a registered HVAC tech, but Mike Carper (owner of Gauge Metal Fab) told him that Duke works under his license. The inspector further told me that he told them they needed to come out and at minimum replace any burnt wires and clean up the charred mess. Duke returned a few days later and did so, thankfully he didn't try to charge me. Other than that fiasco, I happened to ask an HVAC tech that I work with "what is an expansion valve? My 16 SEER heatpump came with one, but the tech didn't install it, it's just sitting in my garage in a box. Is it just for a different setup?" Nope, come to find out, my 16 SEER isn't capable of actually functioning at full efficiency without this part. Why wasn't it installed? Who knows. By this point, I was SO frustrated with this company (or rather tech... Mike seemed fine to work with, my only complaint about him being that during these issues, he never came out to personally inspect the work that his tech did under his license) that I didn't even want to deal with them ever again. I'll pay somebody else to come out at a later date now that my "warranty" is up with them. Please note that at no time did I attempt ANY work on ANY of the equipment or peripherals (other than once when I was instructed via the phone by Duke to open the unit and replace a small 3 amp fuse for the control board), mostly because having researched before even building my house, I was warned many times that the HVAC community is a fairly elitist (maybe that's not the proper word) bunch and if you so much as touch anything, they will void your warranty and leave you holding the pieces.
