When I came home on Tuesday afternoon to a loud hissing noise and water gushing from beneath me 7 year old AO Smith water heater with a 6 year warranty. I called Garden State and first spoke to the receptionist and explained what happened and asked if they did emergency service (who can live without hot water). She was very sympathetic and connected me to James. James was super. He asked me a few questions and he had all he needed to know exactly what I needed. He quoted me what I consider a fair price that included a Bradford White Water Heater with a 7 year warranty and installation. He promised that someone would be at my house between 9 and 9:30 the next morning and would have it done in less than 2 hours. A two man crew arrived at 9:15 and finished the job in about 1.5 hours. They were super courteous and professional and answered all of my questions and shared with me what I needed to know going forward. They also registered the product with Bradford White for me in my name and they arranged for the permit to be issued and for the inspection to take place at my convenience. Amazing! Although I lament losing my water heater so unexpectedly and having to spend money that I did not want to spend, this was an excellent experience. If my experience is representative of their customary and usual work, I highly recommend Garden State for any of your needs for which they provide a service.

Had issues with furnace short cycling and heat not available despite the blower running. All Seasons came out and diagnosed as broken heat exchanger and completely dismantled the furnace and red tagged it Unfortunately he also turned off the gas line to the water heater. Lovely. I wanted a second opinion because they pushed to see if I wanted to purchase an ac unit as well. No, my ac is fine. Couldn't get an immediate quote until 2 days later from a phone call. Oceanside came out and diagnosed the same problem and wondered in amazement why the previous tech disconnected everything. He immediately gave me a quote for a York but I wanted a Carrier. He said he would get back to me on the following Monday. Today was Friday. I did the research and discovered that York is an inferior brand with repair issues. I decided to call Garden State because after researching about Carrier, the business must be a licensed dealer and have the techs be certified to install their product correctly. Garden State holds an A+ rating from BBB. Almost all reviews are positive and the negatives are resolved with a response. Huh...Oceanside isn't a licensed dealer and they were offering to sell me a Carrier, which turned out to have a lead time of 6-8 weeks. Shocking. You aren't a dealer. Next. Jim from Garden State, the owner who's business goes back generations believe in the ultimate business model. Treat your customers with honesty and respect as if you were dealing with one of your relatives and in return loyalty lasts a lifetime. Jim personally came out the night of my initial call and guided me honestly to what I needed and why. I wanted an infinity high efficiency 96, their top model. Unfortunately, my basement could not accommodate a high efficiency model without creating a new exhaust through the house. He doesn't even carry the Infinity model because it's prone to breaking down due to its numerous electrical sensors. I was offered the Comfort Model 80 with 90K btu. I wondered why not the Performance and he said it's all marketing. I agreed and had the furnace installed two days later. His quote was a thousand less than Oceanside with a York. The following day, I had reservations as to my decision and did more research on the diff between Performance and Comfort. I discovered a blog from a HVAC tech of 30 years, who mentioned that you are wasting your money. The two stages is nothing more than smoke and mirrors that actually consume more electricity to run, quoted from the Society of HVAC Engineers assessment of this new technology. Thank you Garden State. I will be calling you for my future ac needs and have my furnace inspected every year by you.

We've used this company for more than 30 years. They've always been there when we need them. From the initial installation on this house all those years ago to replacing the furnace and a/c, they're always professional, clean, and get the job done right the first time. They come out twice a year to maintain our system, and always promptly respond if we have a problem. Their techs, and their office staff, are always courteous and know their stuff. Happy to do business with them -- they've become like family. And their prices are fair too.

Bob, we really appreciate you taking the time to write to us. Thank you. If there's anything else at all that you need, please let us know. -Jim G., Business Owner
