My scheduled appointment was 8-9am. The technician, Mr. Howard Wallace arrived promptly at 8:00am. He was wearing a mask and began checking out Furnance. He appeared to be doing a very professional  job.  He was very helpful in explaining what he had done and  recommended future services that might be needed. I would like to use this technician for future services as needed.

I have used Fresh Air Heating and Cooling for several years now. Their technicians are always prompt, friendly and professional. When I needed new AC units installed, I used Fresh Air to purchase and install them. They also replaced my water heater a few years ago, with seamless installation. Mike was my technician today and has been to my house several times. He ensured that both of my AC units were checked, clean and functioning properly. We have used Fresh Air for our bi-annual service checks for nearly 15 years with great satisfaction. Our AC unit was on the decline so we preemtively decided it was time to replace the entire system. Fresh Air offered a great spring pricing opportunity and sent us Jim, a friendly and knowledgeable Comfort Advisor, to discuss our options. After choosing a new system, they were available within 3 days for the installation. On the day of installation it was a rainy cold day but technicians, Doug and John, were ready! They were friendly, knowledgeable, answered every question, kept the house and exterior clean, reset the outside pad, and explained how our new system (with humidity controls and five speed fan) would work in all seasons and modes. Working with Fresh Air was a very pleasing experience which we encourage others to consider for their HVAC needs!

When I spoke to their office initially, they could not tell me what the company charged per pound for R410A refrigerant (which should have been a red flag to me) but their inspection of the unit was less than others so I assumed they would be more reasonably priced. Anyway, the AC guy came out- first he insisted my AC was hooked up completely wrong. 2nd, He said I could not have a 3 ton heat pump connected to a 2 ton air handler- which freaked me out until I googled it and realized he did not know what he was talking about. Also said my lines were not attached correctly. He disappeared to his van for a moment- after he returned, he said, that it was in fact, okay.  So I paid an incompetent repair man to tell me what I already learned via google. THEN he said the charge for 410A was $139.00 PER POUND, no matter how many pounds you need! That’s nearly triple what another company charges- and unlike others… the cost doesn’t change based on how many pounds you need!  So if I need 8 pounds for my 3 ton AC- I would have to pay over $1000.00! If you have unlimited funds and nowhere else to spend your money, THIS is the place to go to.

Hi Sally, I am sorry that you had such a poor experience.  I have reviewed the calls between you and our office and we were not asked for the the price of our refrigerant.  You were quoted $59 which is our discounted diagnostic for new customers. All you paid Fresh Air was $59.  When our technician arrived he found a newly installed system that would not pass an installation inspection. Our technician's initial confusion was because the model for the air handler is 2 ton and the heat pump is a 3 ton.  Upon discovering that the mismatched evaporator coil installed in the air handler was rated for a 2.5 to 3 ton system he corrected his error. Although considering how the equipment is mismatched and improperly installed, it needed to be confirmed the correct piston was installed in order for the refrigerant to flow properly.  He could not visually confirm this without opening the refrigeration line.  He also noted issues with multiple sizes of refrigeration tubing, no tubing insulation, and an improperly installed condensate drain.

Our refrigerant prices are comparable to other reputable companies in the area.  We would recommend that you go back to the installing company because there is no reason you should have to pay anyone for 8lbs of refrigerant or correcting the issues from the installation.  A reputable company should/would fix the work that was done.

Always knowledgeable...very professional and friendly. Arrive on time...complete their work and leave the clean and working perfectly. Our lasted work was installation of new humidifier.
