After meeting with several HVAC companies for a new AC and furnace, we found Freedom was able to offer the best quality and warranty, which was what was our main concerns.  Eddie Hunter was amazing to work with.  Unlike most salesman, Eddie took the time to listen to both my husband and I about what we were both looking for in  choosing and purchasing our new units and he worked with us to get just that. He did not try to push us into anything we didn't want or need.  The installation was quick and the technicians were just as amazing. They were extremely polite and professional while installing our units.  They took time as well to explain and answer our questions and concerns.  I would highly recommend Freedom to anyone.

I had Freedom come out to install a new Kitchen faucet and also tighten up a couple lose bathroom sink faucets. Ryan showed up 5 minutes prior to our appointment time, did the job quick and professional. Checked all his connections to ensure faucets weren’t leaking before he left. Great service from a friendly and professional company.

They came out to quote for a new install for an a/c and furnace. Technician was great. Very professional and polite. Quote was competitive. But in less than a week since contacting them I've had 3 promotional emails from the company. I'm not about to sign up with this company and get spammed for the next 10 years for a heating and cooling system.

Cedric was a professional. He was so nice and he explained everything to my husband!! He is a great employee and very smart! AWESOME! We have used Freedom Air for many years and they have always been honest and reliable!

Do not use this company unless you’re itching to be scammed. How they have such good reviews, I do not know.

What was supposed to be a simple Nest installation turned into a con-artist clinic. My technician peppered me with questions about who I lived with, what I did for a living, how old I was, and then commented on my “nice car” twice. Clearly, he was sizing me up to see how much money he could squeeze out of me.

After installing my thermostat, he offered to “check my system for free!” He then dramatically said to me “I need you to come see what I found and you’re going to have to wear a mask.” When I asked why and what the problem was, he replied “Just come look.” Not keen on walking into an unknown problem, I asked him repeatedly what the problem was, and our back-and-forth continued for about 10 minutes. He then finally revealed that my system was filled with “possibly deadly” mold and if I “didn’t want to move houses,” I’d need to pay thousands to have the mold problem solved. Luckily for me, he offered to throw in my thermostat installation for free if I moved forward with having him install all of the anti-mold equipment! Wow, my lucky day!!! I knew this was a major red flag and said I would be getting a second opinion.

After all this, I was charged $100 more than I was quoted. In total, I paid $680 for a simple Nest installation. The kicker? When the technician left, the thermostat wasn’t even working and I had to immediately call asking for a second technician to come out. The second technician then looked at the “mold”, and recited the same lines verbatim as the first. Clearly, they were operating off a sales pitch script.

Then, someone at the main office called to say I underpaid, even though I was looking at the check I had just written for the amount she was saying I owed.

After speaking with a trusted HVAC technician at Tri-Counties, I heard this was a common tactic for Freedom. They try and scare their clients (mostly women) into spending thousands for a non-existent problem.

Avoid this company like you’d avoid the deadly mold they’ll claim you have in your ductwork.

New gas water heater installed 1/4/21 with 6 year heater warranty and 2 year install warranty. Unit stopped heating 12/24/21. Got unit restarted by self relighting pilot 12/24/21 but failed again and would not maintain pilot. Called “24 hour service” number 12/26/21. First available service appt was 12/28/21. Service rep arrived 2 pm 12/28/21. Unit needs gas valve replaced. Service rep advises 1.5 to 2 week delay on getting parts. Service rep professional, competent and good communication skills but bottom line is no hot water for two weeks. Not happy.

If you want to  be ripped off then hire this business. They are a con and using another company's license. They use used parts, they never come back to do any repair, also have no office and use a  vacant lot for a business address. Look at how they left my  unit. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE FRAUD..I will be calling the  license board.

Sir, I'm almost positive you have the wrong company. We have our own license number 10184, and have always used it. We only use brand new parts , and we definitely have an office. 2881 Shannon Oxmoor Rd. Birmingham, AL 35211. We have used Freedom Heating and Cooling for our HCAC needs for 15 years. The service, products and employees have always been especially good.
We recently had a major project done. There was an issue with a portion of the project.
Freedom Heating and Cooling followed up as we requested, correcting the problem doing excellent work.
We are pleased to recommend this company for any large or small HVAC needs.

They sent Michael Elliot to my house. He was on time, courteous, professional and he took his time explaining to me what was wrong, what he was doing, and he broke down the price. Very nice guy and my experience with the company (from receptionist to repair) has been top knock.

I will never use them again. They conduct business on making sure they collect top dollar from you. Took them from 2017 til now to find our system venting from an asbestos pipe. Also sold us a tankless water we didn’t need. Our gas water heater could’ve been vented out of the house but we weren’t told that. Every technician that has come out says something different, none of them are ever on the same page. A plumber showed up reeking of alcohol and halfway completed his job. Also had a horrible attitude. Almost 3 weeks for a $16,000 job and our stuff still isn’t completed. One of their employees dropped a tool into our wall while installing our thermostat which will apparently be there til the end of time. (Which he laughed about) Every employee that has been to my home never has anything good to say about the company. Every one of them has talked about getting another job and has talked to us about how crooked Freedom is. Every time someone comes to “complete the job”, they always have to come back the next day because they don’t have what they need but end up going to another job that’s lined up for that day. I had a supervisor tell me on a Monday he’d be back by Friday to do electrical work. When asked about it he stated he was booked for the day and would be back the following Tuesday. That said supervisor was sitting in the general managers office when I talked to him on Friday. I thought you were booked for the day? Imagine that. Their communication is also horrible. Every time you’re told they’ll be back on so-and-so day, you never hear from them unless you call to find out what’s going on. 2 full weeks, going on 3, to install a new HVAC and tankless water heater, fix plumbing and run electricity. When their employees tell you to contact the BBB you know it’s bad. If I would’ve known all this beforehand and read all these reviews, plus hearing what their own employees say about them, I would’ve never used them or gave them a penny  of my money.
