Loved this fort! Hearing the bats in the ceiling was a little bit of a surprise but was very cool. I enjoyed seeing the rooms furnished and walking through them. It has a very informative walk through to learn about the history of the fort. The park ranger was a big help also as I planned on going into Big Bend the following day. She helped with the roads and suggestions on some of the trails.

Nice historic place. Well maintained. It's just located outside of presidio. The entry fees is $5 for adults. Due to Covid most of the rooms are inaccessible. There are a few trails around the fort to explore. But while exploring the trails do take enough water as the weather in Presidio is very hot and the temperature rises very quickly once the sun 🌞 is out. It's a nice few hours stop (taking the trails)if you are passing by but by itself it can't be set as a destination.

Great stop if you are passing through, not sure it's a destination on its own. This grand Adobe structure dates back to 1848, the bathrooms were closed when i visited and no porta potties. The entrance fee is only $5 and is good at any other park for the day. You can walk around the grounds for free. Someone the rooms have been redone and some are barren... the courtyard is similar with parts fully restored and parts in ruin and a giant hay wagon. Plan to spend an hour here.
