  I would not recommend this company at all. My elderly, widowed grandmother bought a new whole-house generator recently and we called Fabian, her oil company for several years, to come swap out the old tank for a larger one and hook it to the generator. We were quoted $1400 for the install, then a higher fuel price due to the fact she's in a "rural area". She's 20 miles from the Skowhegan location, on route 150. That is not any more "rural" than anywhere else in central Maine, and no other company we called gave a different price depending on the area. Then, to add insult to injury, they didn't even show up to the appointment! Fed up, we called McKusick's, who did the install for $500, gave us the same oil price as the in-town rate, and actually showed up when they said they would. Icing on the cake--when Fabian came to pick up their tank (that had been recently FILLED and barely used), they charged a $99 fee and then didn't issue a refund for the oil that was left in it. They stated the amount in the tank just covered the fee, which given the price of oil was unlikely. At every turn, there was an additional fee or an exorbitant price. Taking advantage of your customers, elderly or not, is despicable.

  The customer service is phenomenal, why would you go anywhere else but Fabian? Who doesn’t like cute pictures of cats from their oil company?!
