They charged me $388 to come to Peoria and spend 2 hours assessing my commercial steamer to tell me at the end it was not worth repairing. My question is, if you are professional and charge such a high price for assessment, why would it take you 2 hours to determine a piece of equipment is totally damaged? Which it turns out to not be true as another company got the steamer to work. I do not recommend this company.

Gabriela - We are sorry to hear that you felt you had a negative experience with our team. It looks like we sent our most efficient and senior technician who has been with our company for over 25 years to look at your Groen steamer. Your unit was significantly limed up and in poor condition. He worked to cleaned both water probes that had excessive lime build up on both of your boilers before further assessing. Our company does not make replacement recommendations lightly. We will always look at the cost of potential repairs in the near future and overall condition prior to making that recommendation. This is done to raise awareness and offer protection to our customers regarding repair vs replace and making sure that our customers are not spending more money on repairs than the cost of replacement. When a unit reaches a certain age, they can be issued a "band-aid" for temporary operation but there are no guaranties on how long they will hold; this often results in multiple repairs moving forward that can be costly. ESI does not want to "band-aid" units unless the customer is fully aware of the situation. We invoiced our legitimate time incurred assessing your unit that was in overall poor condition after we were told you were going to be replacing with a used unit. Our management team is always willing to discuss any complaints, but I don't show that you had reached out to us with any concerns. This company doesn't stand by their work when their technicians do faulty repairs. I paid them to repair a defrost timer and the fridge did not defrost like it was supposed to. I never noticed it didn't work till 5 months later when the compressor froze up. Another contractor tried to work on it, but the wiring was so screwed up they would have charged me $750-1000 to get it done. Eichenauer refused to even look at it again without charging me. I had another issue with them a couple months ago when I asked them to repair an ice machine. They said I had to replace a part and pay about $1000. I had another local contractor look at it and he repaired a wire and it took them under 90 minutes. I still had to pay eichenauer over $200 for assessing the damage. Eichenhauer will require to keep your credit card on file and charge you no matter what. Save your money and call another contractor.

Michael Tasch, We are sorry you have had a bad experience. I do see where we were out on your True freezer back in March and installed a new defrost timer. When we were called back out on the unit within our warranty period of 30 days labor/90 days parts due to the unit being down again we replaced the timer free of charge. Unfortunately we can not warranty repairs forever and we are unable to warranty a repair on your freezer 6 months after we repaired it. In regards to the ice machine the technician diagnosed a bad water pump due to it being locked up and in poor condition. The water pump could have probably been unlocked and adjusted to run again but this is more than likely a short term solution. In these type of situation we prefer to replace the part for a final resolution. I also see that you were only charged $92 dollars for this assessment not the mentioned $200+. Eichenauer Services has been in business for over 65 years and we always stand behind the work that we perform out in the field.

When I was an Executive Chef and a piece of equipment went down i knew ESI would have me up in running as soon as possible. Their technicians were always courteous and extremely knowledgeable on the equipment they were working on.
