After dealing with another company for over a year, and having repeat issues, I made the call to E&J. These people were top notch when it came to both customer service and knowledgeable technicians. They have been on time for each visit, polite, explain situations and solutions with very fair pricing, and have fixed all of the issues with my geothermal system that the other company told me were "normal". I would recommend E&J to anyone looking for service on their geo system.

We called E& J electrical for electrical help after the Derecho because they were recommend by a neighbor. We were told it would be $98 an hour including driving time. We share a pole with our neighbor so we hired them to do the work for both of us. We got a bill for $1735.00, 14 hours of labor. We were told that was for 2 employees, so we were charged $98 per employee. We were not told it would be $98 per employee doing the work. We were just told it would be $98. Our neighbor was charged for 21 hours of labor. So 35 hours of labor for 1 electrical pole & 2 employees This is price gouging in my opinion, and the electrician asked to borrow our ladders.

I appreciate you reaching out, Pam, and I apologize if our prices weren't made clear up front. In the flurry of activity, post derecho, it’s possible we didn’t explain our labor rate clearly enough. When it was brought to our attention, we reviewed the invoices, apologized, and issued a labor rate discount. That said, we feel the total hours needed to make repairs (for both parties) was completely justifiable for the amount of work performed. The new pole required two separate electrical services to be completely built -- one for each service user. This included the installation of two meter socket boxes, two breaker/disconnect boxes, and the conduit needed to extend up the pole to the overhead utility provided wire. The necessary repairs extended beyond the meter pole; there were several overhead wires that ran from the meter pole to some out-buildings. The electrical connections on those buildings were damaged; one so badly, it had to be completely rebuilt, which included replacing the building’s circuit breaker panel. The time spent completing the large scope of work, while meeting all mandatory electrical codes, was very reasonable. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Thank you. -Bill L., Manager

The Tech guy was great.. The reason why I am leaving a 1 star review is because when I called the company due to needing our geothermal serviced, they said they needed a CC on file.. So I provided my card information to set up the app... NOTHING was stated to me nor provided in writing that our card would be charged automatically.. Next thing I know My credit card is being charged WITHOUT MY CONSENT!! Called customer service only for the gal to tell me There can be miscommunication between their billing and scheduling..... I will not be doing business with them again if they are going to be THIS reckless with my payment information!!
Response from the owner
We appreciate your input. E&J requests credit card information to help ensure payment for the services provided, at least until each customer has shown positive payment history with us. It is our company’s policy to obtain credit card information when setting up a new customer account. At the time of service, each customer is given the opportunity to pay with the credit card they provided or submit a check/cash to the technician on-site once our work is completed. Sometimes collecting payment (at time of service) gets missed, so we trust the customer will pay our invoice when they receive it. In your situation, an additional 38 days was granted, but since payment was not received, E&J activated the credit card method as a means of payment. It is our standard procedure to charge the credit card on file, as consent is given when the credit card information was submitted to us. The admin who processes overdue accounts waived both the 1.5% service charge for the overdue balance and the 3% credit card processing fee for you. Unfortunately, we were still unable to collect payment, due to the credit card charge being denied. In the past, E&J has worked closely with customers who have encountered financial hardships; we understand unexpected expenses can arise, that’s why we offer an array of options in those times of need. We apologize for any miscommunication regarding our procedures. Please give us a call to speak to a manager if you have any further concerns on this matter. -Thank you, Bill L.
