  When my AC compressor blew out it almost started my house on fire. Kevin came out within a couple days. I asked him to quote and replace the entire system. Within the next two weeks I had a fully functioning new system. The other two local Chesterland companies I called never even bothered to return my calls. Thank you Kevin! My AC is 55% more efficient (16 SEER vs. 8 SEER), and my furnace is 15% more efficient. The system will pay for itself over the next decade, and it's a lot quieter and more reliable than the old system.

  I am a DIYer at heart but there are certain things I know are better left to the professionals. My AC quit working in early summer 2020. I was able to ‘McGiver” it through that summer knowing it would need to be replaced in the off season. My go-to HVAC guy had run into some health issues and was stepping away from the business. When I asked for a referral he gave me the number for Ditto Heating and Cooling. I called Kevin in February and he came out to assess the job. His quote was right in line with what my ‘go-to guy’ told me to expect (and well below prices he told me to avoid). I gave Kevin the go-ahead to move forward. In April 2021 I decided I wanted to put the new condenser in a different location outside and this required a new line set to be run. Knowing I was cost conscious and a DIYer, Kevin suggested I could install the line set myself if I wanted to save some money. Kevin provided the tubing and I bought the wire and ran the set myself. I called Kevin when I was done and he came out within a week to complete the installation of the Goodman 3.5 ton AC unit which also required a new A-coil. Later that summer I bought a wifi thermostat. The DIY installation was simple and ran the AC fine the rest of the summer but when heating season started the furnace failed to start. Without even considering checking the manual, I sent a quick text and photo of the wiring to Kevin and he quickly pointed out that I had 2 wires in the wrong place on the thermostat and the problem was fixed. My most recent interaction with Ditto HVAC was for a buzzing gas valve on my furnace. I called Kevin who was in the area so he stopped out for a quick check. He confirmed the buzz seemed to be coming from the gas valve. I had him pick up a new one from his supplier which was competitively priced with parts I found on the internet. The bonus was I didn’t have to pay Kevin shipping. I picked up the part from his house in Chesterland and installed it myself. Bottom line is Kevin is good at his art, he’s timely and considerate. He’s accommodating of and willing to work with individual requests. In addition, Ditto’s prices are much lower than you’ll find at the bigger HVAC outfits. Thank you Kevin for the services you provide to consumers like me.

  Kevin replaced a 20 year old “jet engine” of a HVAC unit. But before that he serviced the old hunk of junk for 3 years before we relented and finally got a new one. Kevin is a good business person and knows how to service his clients quickly and appropriately. He is direct and does not over promise and under deliver. He knows his business and is highly skilled. Best thing about him is how responsive Kevin is. I know that if there is an issue, and I or my husband call, I never have to worry if he’ll call me back. The new system he put in 2 yrs ago, purrs like a kitten, cools quickly and has saved us hundreds in the course of the first 2 years having it. Just recently, on the first hot day of the year, it did not cool the house. My husband, out of town- of course- gave him a ring, and within an hour I was speaking to him. He did not just make an appt to come out. He walked me through a few easy steps to check first. Low and behold...he was correct...it wasn’t the unit at all. Our breaker on our needing to be replaced electrical panel had tripped on the condenser. A quick flip of the switch and the house was cool in an hour or two. He didn’t even need to come out. Others would have come in the house and charged a for a service call. If you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable person for your HVAC needs-Kevin is your guy.
