To hold us over until the actual AC installation could be completed, two workers dropped off portable window units to our house. When they arrived, they "installed" the units in our upstairs and downstairs windows (plugged them in and placed them in the window.) The employees mixed up which window unit needed a bucket for drainage and which one didn't. As such, a large quantity of water dripped out of the unit all night, into our newly refurbished floors and through the living room ceiling. They came to take pictures of the damage, apologized for it, and said it was because the workers were new to the company. After that, we went through our insurance company to try and figure out how to pay for the thousands of dollars in repairs. DiMarco claimed that they didn't install the units and therefore weren't responsible. This was a blatant LIE. We wish we'd just stayed on the waiting list for the other company we had considered. The actual finished AC works well, but it wasn't worth the hassle and the lying. We just got the insurance check months later, and they still haven't taken responsibility.
Response from the owner
We regret reading this feedback as we do take pride in the quality of our work. Not to say that we do not make mistakes, but when we do, we always correct them. Initially, Mr. Klatt had asked if he could pick the units up from the office himself via an email to me. I told him that he was welcome to do so, but that we could not be held responsible for any damage done due to improper set up. So, he knew up front that there was a possibility of damage and that we would only be held responsible if we set them up. However, we did not set up both of the units, which do not go in the windows. According to the tech, who is not new to the company, when he tried to install the upstairs unit Mr. Klatt insisted that he install the unit himself. After tech left, he called into the office right away to make us aware of the situation as we made it very clear to him that he needed to set up the unit for Mr. Klatt for liability reasons. At this point, there would not be a motive for him to lie about the situation as there was no damage done yet. After speaking with the tech, the service manager called Mr. Klatt to encourage him to let us install the unit, but he still insisted he do it himself. Mr. Klatt then called us after running the units over the weekend stating that it had leaked and that there was damage to the ceiling. Even though we knew that we did not set that unit up, we were willing to take a look at the damage and perform repairs while doing the install. At the time there were other contractors there that were working on the home and capable of doing the repairs to the ceiling. So, we told Mr. Klatt we would take some money off the install so he could use that money to have those contractors complete the repairs. So, we did pay for the damages in the picture attached to be repaired. The damage to the floor was not mentioned when we were there taking pictures of the ceiling. It was not mentioned until the next day, when Mr. Klatt emailed that there was damage done to the floor that he states had just been refinished. I had asked the installers to get a copy of the invoice for the floor refinishing from Mr. Klatt in order to confirm the cost of the work needed. I never got a copy, but it may be that no one had remembered to ask. However, there was never a mention again about the damage to the floor. Not even to the owner who was there throughout the install. The next thing we heard about the floor was from Mr. Klatt’s insurance company trying to get us to pay for the claim. We refused it as no one was personally shown the damage to the floor and as mentioned we did not set that unit up. I am very sorry to here that working with us was a bad experience for you but we did all we could to prevent the any damage happening.

The blower on my furnace went this past weekend. I called DiMarco and they had me back up and running in no time. They responded right away and were very professional and courteous. I was worried I may not have heat for days, but they made sure that wasn't the case.

I highly recommend them. They performed exactly as they said they would. On time, profesional, cleaned up any mess. I higher most of our contractors, and they were among the best or maybe THE best.
