  These guys installed a furnace in the house I rent in August. I just now had the gas turned on and when the gas company showed up, they noticed CJR did not install an vent. The gas employee had to turn off our thermostat after turning on the gas because if the furnace kicked on he said all the carbon monoxide would fill the house and kill anyone in it. I called CJR to come fix the issue. We scheduled an 8 AM appointment the next day. He called at 9:40 and told me forgot to put my appointment in his phone and wanted to reschedule for three days later. I told him I needed it fixed today, that there was no exit for carbon monoxide in my house and my thermostat had been turned off due to his mistake. CJR came out at 4:30 to install a vent and did but did not turn on the furnace. He said the gas company does that, which they do not. CJR would not answer any phone calls the rest of the night. The next day he called me back and told me "Turn the thermostat on, your furnace isn't gas. You have gas to power your electric furnace." This didn't seem right but I took his word for it and ran my heater at 85 degrees for an hour and my house only increased one degree, from 71 to 72 degrees. I tried calling again and they would not answer. After waiting an hour, I finally contacted my landlord who had to call and threaten to not pay for the furnace before they would come back out and finally turn my furnace on. So aside from them making the mistake of not installing a vent, which could have killed me and my family had it gone unnoticed by the gas company, the customer service sucked and the overall knowledge of heating and air appliances doesn't seem to be there.

  I would not do business with James White the owner of CJR Heating and Air. The equipment he sells is junk and after you purchase the equipment from him you can not get him to keep an appointment to fix what is broken. I purchased a central heating and air unit less than four years ago and he has actually been to my residence three times since then to try to fix what he sold me. The second round of appointments last year was when I became so frustrated with him because he would schedule an appointment and then I would take off work and he would not show up or call. Finally after calling him from my work after a few day where he did not know the number on the caller id, he answered and surprisingly came to fix what had been a problem for over two weeks and another technician had also worked on from his store in Harrodsburg. I am writing this because now a year later once again Mr. James White left me setting at home thinking he was going to arrive at 5 to fix my central air and again no show no call.

  Thank goodness Google allows for more than one review because Mr. White gave us EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. He had no problem coming to our house at 11 PM to fix our unit. He was very kind, skilled, and showed wonderful customer service. Its nice to know that there are still honest people out there not trying to 'rip' people off just to make a living. I would recommend CJR Heating & Air to anyone. Thanks again.
