  A drunk and reckless driver was driving very crazy on hwy 6 running 18 wheelers and other cars off the road on 3/23/22. He ran my self off the road. I called 911 reported it. Never saw a single police car on hwy 6 from hearne all the way to Bryan. Real sorry cops if you ask me. They are out there every day harassing people and the day we need them, nothing!

  Arresting officer was straightforward and accommodating (10/10 would be arrested by again). However, I found his partner less agreeable. One could best describe him as incisive, astute and devious. The type to dupe you into confessing. Honestly so impressed with his wording that it was intimidating; enough so that potentially innocent individuals may confess to crimes they did not commit, unknowingly. The car ride was comfortable and timely. Check-in and booking took a few hours, I'm not familiar with the procedure but Its to be expected with the bureaucracy and level of paperwork. The sheriff was good-natured and the staff occupying the waiting area/desks were friendly. They do however have a strange sense of time (20 minutes translates to about an hour/hour 30) according to my personal experience and as the general consensus of detainees. I found the waiting area was uncomfortable but the company was at the least entertaining. Additionally, it may not be important but I was under the impression we could in some way get vital contact information from our phones but whenever others and I asked the answer was always "not right now ask again next shift" even after a shift change... Overall not a particularly negative experience, a monumental waste of my time and money perhaps but that's just how it's set up- as far as I am concerned the facility and those that run it are for the most part on the positive side of the spectrum. "This place is like a daycare." said a fellow accusee.

  Sadly my personal experience with this department is not a good one. I hate to say that racial discrimination does exist within this department. I was racially profiled in my own neighborhood and harassed in my own driveway. The deputy never identified herself and was very unprofessional. She refused to believe that I was the owner of the house and did not allow me to go into my own home until I “proved” to her that I lived there. I have never experienced anything like that before in my life and was traumatized for days after. Unless you have been a victim of racism and been racially profiled you will never understand what it can do to a person. I never even got an apology or sorry for the inconvenience.
