Birkhead installed my Trane energy-efficient HVAC system in 2003. It has worked great with only very minor issues for 18 years now. But, bad news, heat exchanger failed. Apparently heat exchangers are the heart of a furnace and cost well over $1000, part alone. Good news: Trane 20-year warranty meant the exchanger was free to me and I would not even have guessed it was under warranty after so long. The service tech, Larry, was truly exceptional. He was timely, polite, helpful, and completed the work in short order when he returned just two days after his initial diagnosis with the part. He even showed me where the original part had failed which he described as just normal use and age issue. Let me tell you, Larry basically had to take the furnace completely apart to replace this large key central component. Being retired, I was a 'sidewalk supervisor' at a respectful distance and was just incredibly impressed with this man's encyclopedic knowledge of my system. And wrestling that heat exchanger out of the tight fit in the furnace was a Herculean task! The price was reasonable too, labor only for the afternoon. Also, Larry turned out to be a 23-year veteran employee of Birkhead, which certainly speaks well for the company. And, for the record, I am not related in any way to this company. I had 3 different companies come out and nobody could figure out what was wrong with my system, they just kept trying to sell me a new unit. I called Birkhead and they came out and checked it out. Brian was able to get it figured out and fixed within an hour. Sam was also extremely helpful over the phone. I highly recommend this company! They are nice, professional, and know what they are doing.

For over 2-months Birkhead continuously told us that they were 2-weeks out from being able to do our work. This came from both the owners and the sales rep on our project. We were finally given a start date ONLY for them to no-call, no-show. When we tried calling the sales rep the day of the project, we realized that he had blocked our number. When we got ahold of him through corporate - we asked when they were coming out and what was going on… They then told us they no longer had time for our project… This after over TWO months of telling us we were top of their waiting list! After being led on for over two months and then out of nowhere being told that our business isn’t wanted, I have never had such bad experience with any other company.
