We have used Big Footing Heating and Air for the past 5 years after moving into the Island Park area. Their service is dependable, their systems work and perform to my expectations and their technicians know what they are doing. They are trust worthy, finish their work and clean up after themselves, professional and make sure that we are taken care of each and every time. We also like how they communicate with us before, during and after we have them do work. I would recommend these guys for any of your HVAC needs.

We had a great experience with Big Foot. We had paid another local company to install a new furnace and central AC back in October, and the only opening they had was in January. The day they tore out our furnace and tried to install the new one, they left us and our infant without heat for ten days because the furnace they installed was broken by their techs. They didn’t have a contingency plan or anything to hold us over for those ten days without heat. They left the ac unit we paid for, and we were told they would call us in March to install it. When April came around and we hadn’t heard from them, we decided to contact Big Foot. Cody came out the next week to give us a quote and we thought it was reasonable especially since the manufacturer of the AC was different than what Big Foot usually services. They came the following week to install the AC and they had it done in no time and left everything very tidy and organized. I’m very thankful we stumbled upon Big Foot and highly recommend them!

They responded very quickly and knew what they were doing. Initial service call was reasonable. They resisted repairing the unit at first and tried to sell me a new one instead. Eventually they agreed to do the repair. I found the part online for less than $200. They didn't separate parts from labor so I don't know their cost but they did the repair labor in less than an hour and the final bill was just under $600. I am very disappointed about that and feel they weren't honest in billing the job. I would consider them in the future but will do a lot more shopping around first; they won't be my first call. Edited: except that the furnace has just hit 20 years, not 30, the owner's response is accurate and appreciated. They did nothing that I didn't know beforehand and agree to. My frustration, I suppose, is with the 'book rate'. His cautio s about the furnace becoming a money pit make sense and his bid to replace the unit are probably fair. Inspite of my own frustrations, they were upfront and experienced and professional. Thank you for responding.

Hey Owen Hirschi so sorry to hear your experience was not to your level of expectation. To reiterate it is true we discourage our clients to have major repairs done on 20 plus year old appliances because we are admonished by the manufacturers to do so on anything beyond 16 years of age. Yours going into its 30th year we absolutely wanted to alert you to replace as suggestion. As to billing for service, we do book rate at Big Foot Heating much like an auto repair shop. Pricing is upfront and in your case we did offer the repair cost upfront and with your approval repair was made. And absolutely you can buy parts online cheaper, and repair yourself. Our prices reflect an industry standard and covers our overhead to operate business. If you would like to visit further please come by our office.
