I want to start by saying doing business with this place was not my choice. When Frostbite closed this is who I had to deal with to finish out the year of my service contract. First they seem to be getting their arrival windows from the cable company where as they expect to you wait around for a window of 4 hours. According to who I spoke to they don't allow the technician to call you (which would have made it so much more easy to deal with) it was only after I had a part ordered through them that I got them to agree to call 30 minutes before they were planning on arriving. They fixed my furnace, but ever since it's made weird noises when it first starts up. Now why wouldn't I just have them come back and fix it? Because even though I had a service contract with them they felt it necessary to charge me $70 just to travel from Savannah to St. Joseph. That was the last straw. If they really think that's how to treat a customer then I'll find someone else. I honestly wish Craig had just given me a refund on the other half of my service contract rather than forcing me to do business with these people.

Scheduling was a nightmare. I was told Tuesday morning that they would come that same day or the day after, nobody came. Called back Wednesday afternoon to check in, and I was told that she didnt know if they were going to make it that day. Called again Thursday morning at 8am and was told she didn't know yet if they would be able to come that day because they had not made their route for the day yet. Called again two hours later, and was given the same answer. When I asked to talk to someone above her, she said they were all out servicing (so apparently a route had been done?). When I asked if she could give me an estimate on when they will be able to come, her response was "I don't know, it depends on what area we are in". She ended up hanging up on me and did not take my calls anymore for a while. When she finally answered, she said she did not understand what I wanted from her. I was requesting a service from an Heating and Cooling Company because we had problems with our AC, but she did not understand or seem to care. She said she had too many costumers to take care of and could not follow up with every one of them if they were not able to come out as promised. At least be upfront about timelines so people can look out for alternatives, instead of waiting for days with no action taken. I understand rain makes working on AC units complicated. No question. But to not be able to give an approximate time frame and how many customers were ahead of us, and to not follow through on dates that were promised or at least give a follow up call with a new time frame, is unacceptable. I have worked with contractors that do not have a secretary answering the phone and they keep better control of their schedule than this company who has someone taking care of appointments. We used to work with Craig from Frostbite, and I realized some time in the process that Barnes bought Frostbite. Unfortunately customer service with Barnes is now terrible and nothing compared to the positive interactions we had with Craig in the past.

Wow! Thanks so much Barnes for keeping my furnace running during that cold spell. Now my new furnace and ac are installed. The house has never felt so comfortable. Can’t wait to see the lower utility bills.
