On a Sunday, I requested an appointment for Friday. They called on Monday offering to come early and were accommodating of my schedule. They checked out my heating and explain why my HVAC was reacting the way it was.

All was good and they even suggested cleaning my filter. Overall great experience. I can see why they have so many 5 stars.

Excellent response to my call on Friday PM. Junior came promptly and very quickly figured out what was wrong. Our 26 years old water heater has a lead and b&b  was able to send a team over in less than an hour. They replaced the new heater the same day and even clean up the mess for me. Very happy with Junior and Jason. They replaced our furnace and air conditioner unit about 10 years ago and everything is still working great. No yearly maintenance needed. Just remember to change your filter.

Second edit to post: Harold, vice president of operations, called me to personally see what could be done about my AC issues. He offered me a yearly maintenance agreement and has been working with me on a daily basis to fix my AC unit. That’s great business. I’ll be sticking with these guys.

EDIT to post: Had to reduce stars as Ivan, our first repair man, did great but did not fix all our problem. The company was courteous to not charge for the second repair man to come out and diagnose the problem (a charge of $120) since it was an unresolved issue, but the second repair man charged a good amount of $300+ for materials and labor; which was even more than the first time. So overall, we spent more than $500 to repair our problems over the span of two visits, worked with two totally different in their customer service attitude repair man (from night to day). We could have bought the yearly maintenance with that amount of money we spent the first time around. So we are a little stunned by the lack of customer service of the second repair man. Which makes this company rating for us go down. A truly professional company would take better care of their returning customers.

I have 3 different systems in my home and all 3 had problems.  The office staff were very helpful and I had to have the specialists come out 2 times to do all of the work.  Junior #225 was a perfect professional - he was an expert and quickly figured out the problems with each system. I would absolutely recommend him and will request for him if I need any work done in the future.

We are long-time customers of B&B Gaithersburg (25+ years).  They have always done great work on servicing our HVAC systems -- from routine spring & fall inspections to repairs to replacements of entire A/C systems. The call center is very respectful and taking your information since this was an emergency call. Yuri Lopez showed up the time that I was informed of.  Yuri is very professional and respectful. Our A/C broke in the middle of the day recently and we called multiple companies to come fix it.  B&B came through for us, sending Ivan in the early evening. Junior and Jonathan came early to provide an estimate for a new humidifier unit for my home.  They actually called and asked to come early and showed up when they said they would.  Their estimate was quick and reasonable and I was able to get the installation done that day.  They did a great job, quick and efficient and explained everything to me.  Made sure everything was cleaned up and working as expected.  Thank you Junior, Jonathan and B & B.

I asked B&B to fix a faulty condensation pump. The technician found that the overflow switch was at fault and replaced it. They charged $179.38 for the EZ-Trap switch alone. This part lists on the internet for $16.13

My Reply:
I'm afraid you are mistaken. The price of an EZ-Trap switch was not discussed before the service call. Since I suspected a faulty pump, only the price of a replacement pump was discussed. The technician also did not tell me the price of the switch before he replaced it. I did not find out until he invoiced me at the end of the work.

Resolution:
Harold and I had a good conversation about the disappointment I had with B&B service. He understood my surprise at the price and explained that the price online is not the price at which they're able to procure. He resolved the issue such that I will not rule out future work with B&B.

Very pleased with B&B Gaithersburg. We've been using them for 20 years. My furnace humidifier broke and they were able to send a tech to evaluate it the same day.  Alex gave me 3 options on repairs. I opted to get a new mid-grade humidifier.  Alex was able to schedule an appointment 2 days later to install it.  Alex and Junior were very polite, explained what they were going to do, upgraded existing waterlines (including a shutoff valve) for the humidifier and rewired the unit HVAC unit to ensure optimal performance. Even though it is winter, they also checked the A/C outside to ensure it would work once it was time to start switching between AC and heat as we go through our crazy spring weather.

Had another company out multiple times and they finally said I needed a replacement unit.  The current unit is only 7-years old.  Called B&B and Johnny came out and was able to find the leak quickly.  Just over a week later they had the part and Junior, Johnny, and Toussaint came out and fixed the unit at a fraction of the price of a replacement.  Very happy with the service, they did not mind them pups, and they were respectful of my WFH issues with meetings.  Highly recommend!

It started with my call on a 90degree day to have my heat pump checked.I spoke to Tracy who was so pleasantly understanding,made the appointment to have a technician out the next day when other companies were having me wait much longer.

When we bought our house the prior homeowners recommended we use B&B which we have the 16 years we have lived in this house. On several occasions we have needed them at odd times (once on Christmas Eve) and they have come through.  We have a maintenance contract for our heater and air conditioner and that has been helpful through the years and saved us money. The two workmen, Yuri and Thousaint, came several days to fix the problem due to the need to order a part. They were professional and hard working and kept their masks on the entire time.

B&B did a warrantee replacement for my compressor.  They were easy to communicate with, without making me wait on hold or wait days for a call back.  The entire process took just a few days, from scheduling to install.  They did all kinds of checks for the entire system, not just the compressor, and  despite taking almost a full day for the install, they stuck to their price estimate.

Toussaint Rodgers is a respectfully, responsive technician. I was happy with his service.

We have used B&B Air Conditioning & Heating Service for over 10 years. They are always very professional and able to come out same day. They are quick to identify the problem and walk you through the needed repairs. Their technicians never talk down to me when they are explaining the problem. On their most recent visit we had clog in the drain line and Junior was able to fix it right away and get our A/C back to working. Two years in a row I've paid the $420/yr price to have a service contract, and maybe had a discount on some parts that were replaced during one service call, but I can't know for sure.  Today I was about to pay for the third year in a row while requesting for a tech to come out and check out our heater... when I called I got put on hold for over 10 minutes.  So I hung up and that'll be the end of B&B for us.  There is no excuse for putting telephone customers on hold that long, especially if they pay for a $420 service contract each year without knowing if it is really worth it.

We had to postpone our March service date because of CV19. Rescheduled in April, but under the condition that the B&B tech not enter the house so no chance for community spread. Alex arrived with a filter we'd put in the furnace unit ourselves, and undertook seasonal servicing of our outdoor unit. He was efficient and professional about it. Went without a hitch. Thanks to B&B and Alex Delgado for accommodating us like that! It's why we've been satisfied service clients for 20 years or so.

B&B Air Conditioning and Heating Service came to our home in March 2020 to install a brand new HVAC system and AC. All 5 members of the team that serviced our home (Junior, Harold, Alex, Yury, and Tucson) were thorough, courteous, and professional and worked non-stop, even in the rain! The price for installation of the new equipment was reasonable and the cost turned out to be much less than we were expecting to pay. We were very impressed by the team and definitely recommend them!

They were able to come fix my A/C same day even though I called them in the late afternoon. The technician was professional and quickly determined the issue and fixed it. I felt the price was a bit high for what they did, but that's any hvac company and they actually had a discount on their website which made it a bit better.

Great job as always  by the B&B Air Conditioning & Heating crew!
Ivan R. and Luis B. came in on Monday the 12th to service my AC unit and get it ready for the hot days of summer.  They explained to me what they were going to do and recommended a maintenance service that will keep my AC unit running efficiently. We also spoke about getting the air ducts clean and they gave me an estimate.
Jason P.  and Luis B. came in on the 15th to clean the air ducts.  They explained to me how the process works, and approximately how long it will take.  They were very thorough, and made sure that all the rooms were clean and free of debris before they left.
Both crews were fantastic, they wore masks, they follow Covid protocols. They also wore booties over their shoes to protect the floors and keep us safe.  Thank you for a job well done! See you in the fall!

I am a long time customer. They are super professional and always do a great job. I like the proactiveness with twice/year checkups. Junior (Tech #225) came to the rescue today. I had a hot water pipe located right over my boiler that showing bad corrosion. Could have been a basement flooding disaster. But Junior @ B&B fixed us right up! Thank you.

We have used B&B to service our HVAC system for many years.  We first started using them for regular maintenance somewhere around 2009.  While many of our neighbors were having their almost 20 year old AC units replaced ours kept running strong which I believe was in large part due to the employees of B&B.  When we finally sold the home in 2017 the AC unit was 26 years old and still going.  When it came time to get the unit in our new home serviced and under a maintenance plan it was a no brainer to keep doing business with B&B.

Ivan came on a very short notice.  The ice was filling the interior of the outdoor unit.  The blades of the fan were hitting the ice & making very bad noise.
Ivan did an EXCELLENT job & cleaned the unit completely from the ice.
The unit is back running noiseless.

I called B&B Air Conditioning & Heating Svc. to have a seasonal check of my heat pump. I have a service maintenance agreement with them. Technician, Junior, was prompt and professional. He did a thorough check and changed a battery on the system. He also made suggestions of replacing the system in the near future due to age. When I'm ready to replace it, I will definitely go with B&B.

B & B has been servicing the HVAC system in my home since 2008. I have found them to be overpriced but nonetheless professional, prompt and courteous. In my opinion, their pricing was a premium I was willing to pay for my customer service expectations … Up until my most recent experience.

The technician came out as scheduled to replace a blown motor on my attic AC unit. This is a job they had performed on my other unit 2 years ago invoiced at $886.40. With regards to overpricing, the part itself could be purchased for $200 but was marked up to $549.48 plus labour. My advice, if you are working on a budget, ask them to provide you with part / model numbers and conduct your own due diligence on parts pricing.

While the technician was accessing the attic, the retractable attic staircase broke – photo’s attached. The stair case was not stable enough for the tech to keep going and back and forth to his truck. He also need a part that required him returning to the shop so the job was left unfinished with my unit taken completely apart and left apart until he returned. We both agreed that it wouldn’t be safe to keep using the using the stairs so in the interest of my liability as the home owner the decision was made to repair the stairs first.

B & B management was understanding at first and said they would send someone out to look at the staircase. 2 techs arrived at my home the next day. One to look at the stairs and the other to complete the unfinished HVAC work from the day prior. The tech felt that the repair of the stairs was a larger scope than he could handle and I was instructed to get a carpenter and save my invoice for reimbursement. Since it wasn’t safe to use the stairs the job went unfinished a second day. The tech could not have been more apologetic and courteous about the incident and referred me to the general manager “Dave”.

I went ahead and called a carpenter – I highly recommend Mr. Handyman for your carpentry needs. The carpenter came out and repaired the steps charging me $160 for a 1-hour service job. Immediately upon completion I called B & B to speak with “Dave” and inform him that the stairs had been completed and to schedule completion of the job. I told him how much the staircase repair cost me at which point he proceeded to tell me that according to the tech the stairs were fine and that if it was broken he had nothing to do with it. “Dave” then mentioned that according to the tech the staircase broke when I came up to talk to the tech.

Bottom line I was made to feel like a liar, that damage caused by the tech was my fault and then the classic strong arm bully tactic of Dave letting me know that B & B would “Litigate the incident”. In the meanwhile, my unit has been taken apart and I will need to find a different HVAC company to put it back together and complete the repairs. I’ve also endured 4 days of sweltering heat with young children in the house on their first week of summer vacation. This was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Needless to say B & B is no longer welcome in my home and has lost my business. They don’t care about the customer and lack business integrity - Buyer beware.

Toussdint Rodgers, the technician, did an excellent job.  He is a very personable person, extremely knowledgeable, answering all my questions.  He took his time checking all components and delivered a very detailed report.
