      Arctic Mechanical was just great! The were able to come by when our furnace broke on a Friday afternoon in January 2022 Service Tech went out of his way personally to make the visit even though it was inconvenient for him. He evaluated that we needed a new a furnace and connected me to the office to set up a Weekend Repair. The Tech went out of his way again the next day on Saturday to drive to our Condos Gate House to get another contact phone number because Arctic had been unable to reach us to. The repair could have actually been done on Saturday but because we were unable to be reached, the Replacement was scheduled for Monday. A two person team arrived on time on Monday. They installed the new furnace and removed the old furnace in just over 3 hours. They were very professional, courteous and clean with the install. Our Condo House was back up and warm again later that evening. I would HIGHLY Recommend Arctic Mechanical! AA++!!!!

      tl;dr: Workers were professional and informative, the work was super responsive, and they fully resolved my issue by the next day. Longer version: We noticed our heat wasn't working on Wednesday Night. Thursday afternoon we called Arctic Mechanical, and they sent a tech out within an hour of our first conversation. The tech diagnosed the issue, was very honest about everything he was seeing (and walked me through what he was seeing to make the diagnosis, explaining along the way), and gave me an approximate cost for just the parts that we would need to replace. I opted to replace the heating unit entirely (it was almost 20 years old), and they were able to schedule me for the next morning. So within 30 hours of my initial conversation, I had a brand new heating unit fully installed in my condo. I was impressed with this speed, because these days parts shortages and long delays are extremely common.

      After moving into a new house, I called up a few different HVAC service companies. They all had pretty similar pricing for service contracts (includes 2x/yr maintenance and discounted rates for repairs). Arctic was the only one to come out to identify the exact models of all the heating/cooling equipment before giving a quote, which I appreciated. They even told me that since I was between seasons, I could wait until the next maintenance date to start my contract. However, my furnace started making a banging noise, so I started the contract and asked them to come repair. Luis, the technician who came, was fantastic. The problem happened on a Friday, and I really wanted to get the problem fixed before the weekend. He came earlier than expected, quickly identified the problem - bad blower wheel - and let us know that additionally replacing the blower motor (more expensive), while prudent, was optional. He offered to start driving to the supplier right away to pick up the part so that he could be back in time to install it, which he was able to do. He was very patient answering all my questions about the system, and it's very clear he's knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his work. A couple things which could be improved: - After the diagnosis, the service manager told me over the phone that the part was not in stock, and I'd have to wait till Monday. I had called a few different supplier locations, however, and knew that 1 of them did in fact have it in stock, so I let the service manager know and because of that, the job was done the same day. It would have been nice if Arctic checked all the nearby locations themselves. - The details of pricing are a bit opaque, but I suspect this is an issue any company in this space. When signing up for a service contract, Arctic tells you the hourly labor rate and that you get a discount on parts, but for this job, we were just given a total price to replace the part. Based on the prices we found online for the part, and even being generous for the labor time, it was quite high. We tried to ask the supplier company how much they sell the part for, but they said they are not allowed to tell that to residents. I asked Arctic about how the price of the job was calculated, but was just told there is some automatic formula that takes into account things like driving time to get the part, etc. Some more details/transparency would be appreciated, but as I said this is probably the way it is with all the companies doing HVAC repair, and so you just have to go with one that has a good reputation.
