  I was very pleased with the wonderful staff and competent care that my dad received at this facility. We visited daily and were treated with friendly compassion by the staff about what we were going through as a family with my father’s disease. We were pleasantly surprised, every time we visited, with all of the staff members—we caught them constantly attending to the needs of my dad and all of the patients under their care and doing so with smiles on their faces along with helpful suggestions to ensure my dad was doing as best he could. That meant a lot to me as it showed they cared. And we saw it with everyone they worked with, it was compassion in action, daily. They communicated with us immediately if there were any issues that needed addressed concerning my dad’s health. Unfortunately, my dad had experienced sheer neglect at an incompetent assisted living facility which hospitalized him for almost two weeks with severe dehydration before being admitted to skilled nursing at The Arbors of Gallipolis. My family has the staff at The Arbors to thank for taking very good care of my father before he passed away. We really couldn’t have asked for a better team of caring folks and it meant a lot to my family, and most importantly, to my beloved dad, “Ham”.

  This is a wonderful facility. I love working with the caring staff who truly care for the residents. We help families apply for Medicare and Medicaid and help them through the process of elder care. Our administrator, Bridget McCarley, is fully devoted to all the wonderful programs we offer, such as Caring Partners, where all managers visit the residents daily to ensure they are satisfied, and our Resident Voice program where we make sure residents are heard. Our workers are a team and we try our best to make this a great home for our residents and a great place for employees.

  I have visited Arbors at Gallipolis and know the current administrator, Bridget McCarley, very well. Let me just share my experience... Being a nurse for 25 years, I have worked under several different administrations, Bridget is one of the few bosses I have encountered that actually care about the residents and staff. She began as a nurse also, I feel that allows her to have more of that much needed compassion. She will come in after work hours to help clean, cook, help with patient care or just visit with an actively passing patient and family. She spends countless hours trying to provide the best quality care for her residents and she is always trying improve the work environment for her staff. Unfortunately this is a business and the corporate owners are always concerned about budgets and can be very strict when it comes to certain decisions. Those decisions can often be misconstrued for poor administration. The comments about Bridget not caring are completing inaccurate. The ones who made those comments probably need check the facts. I am assuming they are disgruntled employees who probably provided poor work ethic themselves. Arbors at Gallipolis is very fortunate to have Bridget McCarley as their Nursing Home Administrator.
