  If you haven't flown out of the Alpena Regional Airport in a while, I advise it! They had a full revamp not to long ago, and the place is beautiful! The staff was really friend, the place is never crowded. I really enjoyed flying out of here. Normally I will drive to a different airport, because flying out of this one sometimes the cost is VERY high. This time around I landed a good deal and decided to try it, and I was glad I did. And yes, they still have FREE parking!

  Clean airport, clean bathrooms, warm fireplace, nice and helpful staff. Only one gate, so this is a great place to fly out of or into if you want an easy travel experience. Good for people traveling that might need extra help (elderly, kids, people with disabilities). Snack and beverage vending machines only accept one dollar bills or quarters and there are no other food options so plan accordingly. Free parking!

  The best small airport ever visited. Of course it helps that is only a few years old. Very nice. I must admit though, this is the first airport I've passed through in my travels across the WORLD where the TSA agent made me unwrap my Jimmy John's sandwich before it entered the scanner. When we were on the other side I told my fellow travelers to eat quick before the pilot asked to lick it to make sure it was a sandwich. Really!!! I have carried so many lunches to the scanner and was never asked to see my sandwich. I think they were filming a jimmy johns commercial. It can't be the other thing I'm thinking.
