We would really recommend this shelter for adoption. We got Arez (Rudy) there almost a month ago. He is amazing, and has been a great addition to the family. He is potty trained and very easy to train. Loves his toys and to run outside.

Our family adopted a beautiful dog from here last week.  The place was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Out of all the departments in Alexander county I've interacted with, this has been the most courteous and made my family feel welcomed.  They took care of the 1year rabies vaccine and first vaccinations. They also chipped our new family member and neutering.  No issues, would definitely recommend to anyone in the area to come visit and/or adopt.

Wonderful facility. The staff are so caring, understanding, and helpful. Out of all the surrounding counties I've lived in over the years, this humane society is the best one I've worked with. Thank you Sherry for all your hard work and help.

I’ve been here a number of times and they’re always some of the rudest people I’ve met in my entire life. I feel bad for the animals there. I caught a kitten next to the road and was met with rude remarks and told I had to sign a paper saying it was my cat, just to be told that if the feral kitten wasn’t adoptable in a week they “did all they could do” insinuating that the kitten would be put to sleep. I would recommend literally anywhere else. Do better!

This place is a joke!! Take a cat & her kittens there. Because somebody dropped a cat off in our neighborhood. She had kittens we raised them. The one we had got pregnant took her & kittens there so the kittens could make it . We offered to adopt the mom got told we couldn't. I wouldn't take another animal there!! It's a crying shame they won't you to adopt & when you offer they won't!! Nice as they can be to your face then be rude as they can be about adopting one!! Like I said they are a joke! Taking people's money & food for nothing!!
