  The Alaska Airlines staff at Dillingham was very helpful. They advised me that the checked luggage needed to be checked at least 2 hours before departure to insure that my bag would make the flight. TSA must hand check 100% of the luggage at this airport, and that takes time. Getting to the airport when TSA begins the boarding process about 1 hour before departure will all but guarantee that your checked bag will not be on your plane, and will ship the next day instead. Once you check your bag, you can leave the airport and come back 1 hour before departure. So you can check your bag much earlier on the day you depart if you want. The terminal building is small, and there are only 4-5 seats by the Alaska Airlines counter where you can sit. The airport provides no wifi for customers, there are no vending machines at the airport, and I heard no public announce system. Raised voices were used instead. Be prepared. There are many times a good deal of turbulence encountered on approach to the airport. The Alaska Airlines pilots are very proficient in handling such turbulence, so don't worry.
