DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. Consider yourself warned. I would love to say we had a great experience with AJs & maybe if we had a hose leak, or a clogged toilet, or a dripping faucet… our tale would be much different. Alas, I cannot in good conscious go without informing those in need of plumbing work (who work hard for their money & have to trust a tradesperson with their home) of the horror that ensued over our 14-month long renovation project. AJs Plumbing workers were caught multiple times smoking in our home & were told repeatedly this was NOT acceptable, they would show up drunk, stand around watching another sub work, etc. In the beginning of our project, we were rarely sent the same worker twice. It was like they were using our job to filter out the riffraff. They would drop their trash (personal food garbage as well as work materials) on the floor as they worked & we spent hours every weekend cleaning debris off the floor & scouring the frame work for all the bottles & trash they left inside our walls. If you are not purchasing low-end, big-box store fixtures, I am telling you to please heed my warning. Every. Single. Fixture. I cannot count how many times I heard “I’ve never seen a toilet like this before;” “never installed a sink like this before;” “wow, I just don’t know what to do with faucets like this”. When you allow someone to work on your home, you are already vulnerable & have to put your home into the hands of a complete stranger, trusting they have the knowledge & skill to complete what they promised. Do you know how uneasy these words can make you feel? They placed & re-placed fixtures so haphazardly, they ran lines for almost every fixture in our home a minimum of two times. Although they had a set of house plans for over 12 months, they installed our washer & dryer on the wrong wall… like they just picked one & went with it instead of actually looking at the drawings. They drilled so many holes in our joists & frame work, it looked like swiss cheese after they were finished. Also, they didn’t even use proper tools to make the holes or bother to center them on the joists. The “holes” were jagged rectangular/star/rhombus shapes that looked like they were cut out by a two-year-old using a reciprocating saw. Because of their lack of care & mismanagement of the job, we failed the framing inspection & had to hire a structural engineer to inspect the joists, recommend a fix, & stamp a letter to the permit office saying our house would not fall down due to holes in the structure. They sat the toilet right on top of the escutcheon plate to the water line & thought this was acceptable, didn’t bother leveling fixtures they installed, hammered floor tile up to “try & make more room” for a rough-in they installed in the wrong spot, left a water pipe hanging out about 6” from the house with a spigot attached to the end instead of using a flush-mounted hose spigot like is typically done, & actually plumbed one of the fixtures on one side of the duplex to the water lines on the other side of the duplex! One night after we moved into the house, the shower was turned on for the first time upstairs. Thankfully someone was downstairs to witness the chaos. As the shower was running, sewage water began spewing up from the toilet downstairs covering the walls & floors. After investigation, there was a line under the house that was simply not connected to anywhere & was just dumping sewage under the home for who knows how long. Sad day. After it was all said & done, our bill was DOUBLE the amount of the original quote, probably to make up for costs incurred by redoing work over & over. If this sounds too ridiculous to be true; it is ridiculous, but sadly, all true. I can assure you that all of this PLUS some is our real-life experience with the 10+ months of hell we went through with AJs Plumbing. Don’t believe me, see photos.

AJ's Plumbing has provided great service for my personal and business life. As a contractor, I have used AJ's multiple times for commercial plumbing issues in new construction and renovations throughout the New Orleans area, as well as many renovation and unexpected emergencies at my own home. AJ's is always reliable and quick to arrive and get to work. Recently I had a busted underground coupling leading to my house causing a significant amount of water to pool in my front yard. AJ's had a technician at my house in less than 30 minutes and had the problem fixed quickly and neatly. Within an hour and a half they were finished and cleaned up everything. AJ's is always very professional and a pleasure to work with. Thanks for always providing great service!

AJ’s Plumbing is the BEST plumbing company I have EVER used. In the recent 15 years since hurricane Katrina I have used them professionally and for personal use. I worked for a large local construction company and we used AJ for more than 80% of our plumbing needs. AJ was involved in preliminary design, new construction, renovations and disconnects for demolition. His crew is timely, accurate and cost efficient. I was able to trust his crew with cleanliness and security. There are several instances when we had a price quoted and the actual cost came back less than the quote. My personal use involved the investigating puddly water in my bedroom coming from a distant leaking shower drain, checking for broken pipes underground, re-plumbing my sons house, emergency repairs for my attic mounted hot water heater and removal and installation of bath and kitchen fixtures. I would recommend AJ to anyone! His demeanor, honesty, consideration and loyalty to his customers is far above his competition. I am lucky to count AJ as my go-to when I have plumbing concerns.
