Called Air Repair Repair pros on a sunday and they came same day to see why my furnace stopped heating. Their technician told me that the repair ws going to be over $700 and that the parts would potentially be backordered for 6 weeks. He also wanted to me to pay upfront. I got a second opinion from a family friend who fixed my furnance simply by cleaning the flame sensor and charged me $100. Watch out for the shaddy upsell!

With over 1000 reviews and everyone being 5 Star Happy, every now and then, we get a customer that thinks we are not the best, and they rate us poorly and give their side of the story, which is fine. However, here is the rest of this story. Because we are one of the only 24/7/365 HVAC service companies, at 7:32 AM on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, we received a service request from this customer stating his 7+ year old Goodman system was not heating. Our customer service manager responded and got him scheduled by 8:30 AM Sunday for the 1st open emergency service call slot, for between 12noon to 2 PM that same Sunday. Our technician was at their home for 90 minutes and performed our standard comprehensive diagnostic on the system, as we do for every customer regardless of it being Sunday and sub-freezing temperatures. Our technician's report states, "Went into the attic and found control board reading a code of pressure switch stuck open. Found two holes on the pressure switch tubing, cut off the holes' ends, and reattached the hose. Turned the unit back on after cleaning pressure switch ports, but the control board continued to show that the pressure switch was stuck open. Need to check availability tomorrow on control board replacement part with Goodman HVAC." Our technician provided this customer an estimate for both the control board replacement, which included the servicing of the flame sensor and all of the other systems components. It also included a Comfort Club maintenance membership since the system had not been properly maintained for approximately seven years. This customer signed and accepted the estimate and seemed happy. Our technician received our standard $67 service fee. We do not charge emergency and/or holiday rates. When our tech left, there was an understanding and agreement that we would order the needed parts and set up another appointment as soon as possible to repair their HVAC unit. It appears that they found another HVAC service company that decided to start with the flame sensor as the possible cause of their issue. Should we have performed the maintenance then and there on the flame sensor? Probably. However, our diagnostics would not report past what was indicated as the control board being the issue, and we ALWAYS include cleaning the flame sensor in our comprehensive tune-up, which was planned as soon as we could contact this customer's HVAC manufacture, which is Goodman, which was closed on Sunday and Monday. We do not stock Goodman parts. Please remember it was Sunday, and it was 20 degrees outside. We cannot start guessing what else this issue might be when we have a clear reading that the control board is most likely to cause the problem. We followed up with Goodman, who was closed Monday in observance of the New Year holiday. We called and left this customer an update message that we were trying to verify their part availability and inform them that we wouldn't be able to reach Goodman until today, Tuesday. The next thing we know, we are getting a 1-star review on both Thumbtack and Google from him. No return call back. No conversation. No discussion about having someone else looking at his unit. No cancelation of his requested repair. Times have sure changed in the way that people do business. But at least now, you know the rest of the story.

I called on Saturday at 8pm. They promptly arrived at 10am, which was great because I was expecting 10-12. They were knowledgeable, clean, and professional. You could tell these guys had decades of experience. They didn’t try to sell me a new unit. They troubleshooted tested and we have cool air again. I even joined their comfort club- nice value (annual heating and ac maintenance and discount for repairs. Thanks for excellent work!

My heating unit went out just at the end of winter, go figure it was the last cold spell we fixed the unit last year when it went out so we decided it was time to replace the unit. I received three quotes from three major AC companies in Mckinney and Air Repair was by far the best. Our tech Brian was very knowledgeable, calm, polite, and no pressure given. The install team was prompt and also very professional, the install went great.
Response from the owner
That is great to hear, Kevin. We are happy to know your experience from diagnostic all the way to install was fantastic. Thanks for the review!
