I phoned after reading reviews. My 23 year compressor died and I needed complete installation. They were fast to respond and in less than 1-week, all was completed. From Victoria in the office, to Mike (consultation), to Joe (electrician), to Brenden and Joysbert (installers)----all were professional, friendly, prompt and definitely knew their job! This company installed the ac in my new home that we were building with ABD. From the time we moved into the home we had trouble with the unit. About not even two months in the coil had to be replaced, that should
Not happen on a new system, repaired, then had them back out cause the humidity level was too high and the dampness was horrible.
Then come another couple of months, not even summer yet, and the system leaks all over the place. Called they came and tried to tell me it was my fault, cause it was not drained.
First of all the system was new, it was not even that hot were there was that much moisture to do so, and the cut off value should have turned the unit off before that happened.
Of course I was blamed my fault, air flow charged me.
Told them something is not right that should I lived in fl for twenty years and had a unit installed in my last house, and had to go after trane for some things wrong with that system.

So at the end of it, I never had anyone look at my unit before my warranty was up. But had air flow out the day before the warranty expired. The gentleman’s name was Joe, he had come a couple of times before. Told him my problem also the air in my bedroom never got warm when cold out.
He tells me I need a air balancer and it was still under warranty cause still had a day left.

Ok call them to see when come to do the work, well builder ABD decides they are not covering it . While fighting with that, the compressor blew the next week.
Had a company look at it and was told that, we had to go a whole week with out the air, thank goodness it was. It hot, had to run heat on axillary.
When the company came to look at the unit and I called two different companies hoping someone would have it.
I was told the air structure  above the unit was not done right, and that was why I had the coils go, humidity and the compressor go.
Had to do the repair ABD would not cover it, told
Me someone else looked at the unit and voided the warranty, the warranty was over , after air flow did the install wrong on my unit and the builder would
Not do anything I was not calling them back.
So I am out $1078 cause ABD would not do the right thing and air flow installed the system wrong.

Also there is a gentleman man who answered the phone a couple of times when I called, and he was very nasty also.

So I would not recommend this company for repairs or installs, I got taken for a ride by them and builder.

We’re sorry to hear about the experience you are having with your new system. A newly installed system should not have a leak unless it was due to a manufacturing defect, but is not impossible and would be covered by your manufacturer's warranty. I would like to respond to a couple of points in your complaint to give better clarity of our warranty process.
First and foremost, the only payment record we have for your account was a $125 trip charge to resolve humidity issues that presented when you removed and improperly replaced the builder installed thermostats yourself. The thermostats you chose to install were not wired properly nor were they designed for the zoning and humidity control of your home, which was the likely culprit of your initial humidity issue.  As a courtesy, we only billed you a trip and diagnostic charge and not for the actual cost of repairs.  However, at this time, it was explained to you that any future changes done to the system by yourself or a 3rd party contractor would void your warranty.

While a leaking coil on such a new unit can be incredibly frustrating, it is not completely uncommon due to manufacturing defects, which is why the manufacturers provide a warranty on their parts. Air Flow is not the manufacturer, only the installer. Since you were covered under parts warranty from the manufacturer and labor warranty from Air Flow, this component was replaced free of charge.

As to the water leak — this was due to a clogged drain line. Through normal operation of the system, water is removed from the air and sent outside your home via a drain line. This drain can clog with naturally occurring biological growth.We do suggest flushing your unit once a month with hot water to prevent this. Unfortunately, drain lines are considered a maintenance item by the homeowner, and there is no builder’s warranty that covers a lack of maintenance. However, as a further courtesy as a new homeowner, we cleared the drainline at no cost for trip or labor.

In regards to temperatures in some rooms: we visited your home twice to take temperature readings, and both times found a temperature difference between rooms of 3.0 and 3.2 degrees, which is within tolerance levels and code requirements. Florida municipal code allows for a 4 degree split, and most systems are designed with this variance in mind. To further satisfy your concerns, we agreed to perform an air balance service free of charge to ensure all zoning and air flow was being delivered properly to all rooms.  At that time, we clarified that air balancing needs to be performed when the outside temperatures are above 85 degrees to be done properly and that we would need to wait until warmer outside temperatures. It is now beginning to consistently be at those outside temperatures and we are working through our backlog now.

In response to your allegation that the unit was “installed wrong”— at the time of installation, your system was tested for proper operation, and inspected by both the home builder (ABD) and local municipal inspectors that ensure it is built to code. This unit passed code and all quality assurance tests, both internal and external. The combination of failures you had are not indicative of your allegations.  Furthermore, it would be highly unlikely that a licensed HVAC contractor would be able to rebuild a plenum and replace a compressor for $1078, so it is unclear what repairs have been done by a 3rd party that voided your warranty, but unfortunately we can only warranty our own work and not the work done by 3rd parties. We were not made aware of these allegations or issues to give us the opportunity to verify them and correct them prior to the 3rd party repairs being done.

We are sorry that this was the experience you had, and we hope we can still resolve this for you in the future. However, we unfortunately can only warranty our own work and repairs.
