      I have copied and pasted my husbands review and our personal experience with this company, please read and proceed with caution before hiring them to do any work: I wanted to let some other potential customers know about the incompetence and poor business ethics at Affordable HVAC. I needed a mini split system installed in my house this summer as the days in July were so hot and my 3 small children and wife were very uncomfortable at home while I was working. Merl came out and said it would be a “piece of cake” they’ll be here in 3 days and the job will take 1 day. Over a month later I still didn’t have a functioning AC. The technicians installed the system improperly with the copper lines exposed in several places and condensation was dripping off of the non insulated lines onto the drywall causing water damage. Also the drain lines were installed improperly and water was draining into my house. They tried several times to bandaid the insulation onto the exposed copper lines but the water leaking continued until I went into the attic and showed them how their quick fixes weren’t working and were unacceptable. They then dismounted the units off the wall to wrap the lines properly. They also couldn’t get the refrigerant to stop leaking out of the system. The last time they were here one of the techs stepped on the drywall in my attic causing a large crack in my ceiling which I noticed and brought to their attention. They promised me to get a contractor out to repair the ceiling, but over a month later I hadn’t heard anything. So I had a drywall contractor come out to give an estimate to repair the drywall. I called Merl with the cost of the estimate and he agreed to pay. After the drywall repair was finished the contractor submitted an invoice to Merl in person and Merl assured him they would get a check to him right away. The drywall contractor called me over a month later letting me know he hadn’t been paid. After calling multiple times and getting the runaround I finally got ahold of Merl who told me they weren’t going to pay for the drywall repair and then hung up on me. I don’t have confidence in my system

      We have choice warranty and reported a claim as to which we were given to Affordable HVAC. They set a time for repair and no one showed up at the given time. They are supposed to show up within 24 hrs. Choice warranty says to further assist after to call the A/c company for further scheduling times. We had to make many phone calls and spoke to Bridget who was very confrontational and unprofessional as being in the service industry she said she will call back after figuring it out as to which I didn’t receive any calls back. Each time being told we will check our schedule and call back. This went on for a few days. Finally we went into the office to get someone to come out to which that evening they did and fixed a part. But the unit was still not cooling the house down. Merle did show up on a Saturday to show how to change out the vent which we did and was told to watch that as it maybe the issue. A week later it was checked and still white, which would mean the ac unit is still not functioning properly. I called at 630 on a Wednesday evening and spoke with Merle, told him what was going on and he said he couldn’t make it Thursday but probably Friday but would check with Bridget and let me know. I waited 6 days until Tuesday afternoon and called the office as to which Bridget answered and was told that they were upset we came into their office, I’m not sure what else could’ve been done as we were getting the run around. She said she was dropping our job and told me to never call them again. They did not do the job. The receptionist Bridget is highly unprofessional will not return phone calls, does not come through on scheduling is screaming and yelling on the phone. The business is not run properly and I would not recommend this company to anyone. To the owner response, like I said highly unprofessional and confrontational. If you can’t do the job for the warranty companies then don’t work for them. Plain and simple. I would reevaluate your receptionist. Screaming the f word on the phone. The office is a disgusting disaster which is why they were so offended when we came into the office. I suggest going with a more reputable company.

      She forgot to mention that the original call was closed out and filter completely packed like it hadn’t been changed in years and she lives like an animal house is completely trashed not one square inch on the floor is clean the original call closed out and billed charged a whopping 60 bucks to the customer and choice pays nothing so pretty much broke even customer had the choice to call her warranty company back but given the condition of the hame wich I can posts pictures of they dropped her this lady is absolutely insane do not go work for her I’d let my business shrivel up and die before I would step foot in her filthy house again I tried to be decent to her but she has crossed the line

      Terrible. Technicians Merryl and Blaze spent 4 hours installing an AC and kept saying how easy it would be, just for the AC to never work after installing. They installed a new thermostat crooked. They also set the settings totally different than the first thermostat so who knows if the first one was really non working. They never installed a drain on the AC and the AC blew warm air out of only a few ducts. The furnace also wouldn’t work correctly all of a sudden. They then called and said they needed to install a pan in the attic. Finally 2 days after getting the run around, Tech Chad shows up and said no they need to install a drain off the unit no pan necessary. Meryl would never show his face again and acted shady. He sent Blaze, the master tech that installed the thermostat crooked back out to help. The tech then split his head open in my attic and bled all over the insulation, plywood, and attic ladder and our laminate floor. Chad didn’t clean any of it up nor did he wash his hands. I made him wash his hands before he touched the ladder and handed him a Lysol wipe. The owner told us that it wasn’t installed correctly and they didn’t notice during the estimate how much work it would take! What a joke! Do not use this company. I still don’t trust that the AC will work right and will have a different company verify the work done. Also could not get the blood stains out of my ladder to the attic.
