Had new A/C unit installed 10/18/2018. A/C unit was still cooling but not correctly on 3/1/2021 had 4 lbs of freon & dye kit added (nothing was done with the dye kit at the time). 17 days later A/C was no longer cooling & 3/18/2021 tech came out and replaced evap. coil & 2 lbs freon added. This was to correct freon leak. 7/8/2021 a different tech. (Jessie) came out and repaired freon leak again and tech stated on paper work no refrigerant in system and added 9 lbs of freon. Tech (Jessie) told me the freon pipe /rubbed against the wall which caused the freon to leak. Tech. (Jessie) stated was company's (installer's) fault for not insulating the pipe correctly on installation of evap. coil. Jessie stated he always insulates the coil. 4 months latter received bill for $737.89 ($85.00 Diagnostic Fee $652.00 repair what should have already been fixed and more freon). Advill would not accept responsibility for their tech's error. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ADVILLE AC!
Response from the owner
Sir, First of all, I'm sorry that this breakdown happened and I'm sorry that you didn't accept my explanation after discussing with my technician Jesse. The information given to you by my tech was misunderstood. The leak was on the expansion valve inside the evaporator coil as I stated to you on our previous conversation, not on the un-insulated line. When we can't find a freon leak we administer a dye kit, we give it about 2 weeks to leak out enough of the dye to pinpoint the leak. Two weeks later the leak became huge and it leaked out all the freon. The leak was then taken care of. It was a manufacture's defect and not on our part. Sir, we are responsible for our mistakes if indeed it is our mistake and we will take care of any issue at our cost but only if it is indeed our fault. In this case it was not our mistake but a manufacturer's defect. A freon line rubbing will not cause a freon leak in 4 months, it will take years before it rubs enough to cause a freon leak. Amana will not pay us for any part replaced if it is found to have a defect, they will simply replace the part and only the part itself. You can make a complaint to Amana Customer Service to see if they can help you in any way. They have helped other customers in the past. I hope you do understand and receive my explanation. Our A/C stopped cooling so I called Advill and they were at the house within an hour. They fixed the problem and A/C was running within 30 minutes after they arrived. Very happy with their prompt and excellent service. Highly recommend Advill Air Conditioning!
Response from the owner
Thank you Mr. Lefner for calling on us to take care of your cooling needs. We appreciate your business.

I'm extremely disappointed with this company. My unit is less than two years old and has been nothing but problems. To begin with, the installers did not seal it properly, causing the inside unit to sweat really bad. (Brand new home mind you) We had them out repeatedly to address it. The first time, we were told that it was normal 😡 (it's not). Then we called them out again several more times before they finally figured out that they didn't seal the compartment, so hot hair was constantly getting into the AC compartment causing condensation (not just a little either, it was a lot of water... It was causing mold to grow). It took over a year for them to finally fix that. Who knows how much money I wasted on my electricity bill because the unit ran non stop trying to keep the air cool. Then after that issue got squared away, our AC broke altogether. They came out but this time, they charged us $120 to fix the part that broke because we were beyond our 1 yr warranty. Then TWO weeks later, the heater broke... Again they came out and fixed it... Again charging us $120. I honestly believe that the issues with this unit are their fault because they consistently looked over the insulation issues, causing it to run non-stop and create condensation... and because of that, the conditions have either overworked the parts or rusted them out. The only other option is that they installed a lemon in my new-build home and either way, they should have the integrity to do the right thing. I shouldn't be paying $120 repeatedly for issues that Advil Air likely caused. It's only two years old and has been serviced regularly by Advil Air. I shared all this with the company and even asked to speak to the manager or owner but wasn't given the opportunity. When I mentioned the fact that it could be a lemon, she was quick to point out that lemon laws don't apply to their company... Well that's fantastic, but I would think doing the right thing and operating a business with integrity would. RESPONSE to Owner: Respectfully, you're not going to convince me that my unit was supposed to condense. My neighbors' units have ZERO condensation on them. And now that the cabinet is sealed properly, neither does mine. For the record, your serviceman did not remove any weather stripping (I was there watching everything he was doing, so nice try on that)... Plus, it took OVER A YEAR for you guys to properly diagnose what was going on. Hot air was getting in from our attic because it wasn't sealed up properly when YOU guys installed the unit. You're also not going to convince me that my unit didn't endure un-needed pressure in that year that you guys couldn't diagnose it. As for the rest, those are just convenient excuses to keep charging your customers $120 for issues that shouldn't even be arising on a unit that is barely TWO years old and has been serviced regularly by YOU! And you're right, lemon laws in Texas only apply to autos... But that doesn't mean that's all they SHOULD apply to. If you need a law to force you to do the right thing when conducting business, then I have every right to question your integrity as a Christian business owner.

Ms. S B, I’m sorry that you feel this way about our company. We try very hard to take care of our customers to the best of our ability. Your system is already past 2 years old and only the parts are in warranty. You have all parts guaranteed for 10 years and the compressor for lifetime. Mr. Kemp Dubea (Sun Valley Enterprise) hires us to install high efficiency two stage cooling systems which is more than any other contractor does. These systems run mostly on first stage which is a 2 ton system thus is more efficient than the full 3 ton capacity. They tend to run longer because of that but use less energy thus lowering your energy bill. Because they tend to run longer, the interior cabinet of the a/c system may condensate some. However, your system was condensating more than normal and we couldn’t figure out why. This condensation problem was something we had not encountered yet, only on units that are located in the attic. We finally did find the problem. The problem was that the contractor that installed the closet door to the air handler also sealed it tightly with weather strips. When this was done it created a hot closet and thus the unit created high condensation. The solution was to remove the weather strips around the door and this way the a/c closet cooled down and eliminated the condensation. My installers did not cause this problem but we finally figured it out and corrected it at no cost. This did not cause your system to run longer as you suspected nor did it cause the breakdown of the two components either. You had two repairs after our warranty of one year expired. One part failed on the outside unit for the cooling and the other part that failed was for the heating. Each part was replaced in warranty. The diagnostic fee and labor to replace the parts was charged to you the homeowner since the one year warranty had already expired. The diagnostic fee is charged for sending a technician, opening up your system and diagnosing the problem. If it takes 10 minutes or 3 hours to diagnose it, you will be charged the same ($80.00). The labor to replace any component is also charged to homeowner for replacing the part(s) and taking it back to our distributor for our credit, since we have to purchase the part. As far as the lemon law it only applies to autos; however I don’t think that a system with two repairs can be considered a lemon. I as the owner am not always readily available to speak to my customers. The person you talked to yesterday (Debra) is my Office Manager and she is a very good, honest, courteous and caring individual. I’m sure she talked to you in a very professional, kind and considerate manner as she always does. She knows more about all the repair calls since she’s in touch with the customers and technician all the times. If she cannot take care of a certain matter and my attention is needed I will return your call as soon as I’m able. We try to do all our business in a timely manner and do all our work always with integrity in mind. We have taken care of all your concerns in and out of warranty and will continue to do so if you choose to continue doing business with us. We would welcome the opportunity to prove that.
