  Had a leak in my kitchen from the bathtub above on 8/10. They came to investigate and found a small hole in the bottom off the tub on 8/14. The house is new so they said they would discuss with the builder on how to proceed. A few days later (8/17) I received a text from them accusing me of causing the hole. They asked if whoever “recently” installed the shower curtain rod had dropped a tool and said that was the only thing that made sense because he saw the empty box to the rod in the trash when he was here. The box he was referring to was from the second shower in the home I had installed a few days before (8/11, day after the leak) they came so I could take a shower since I couldn’t use the one that was leaking. I explained that it was a tension rod and no tools were used. He then said he was “talking about the curved rod that was installed above where the original tension rod was”. Not sure where he got that there was an “original tension rod” because the curved rod was the tension rod and the only one we had put in the bathroom, installed in 7/18 well before the leak. I offered for them to come take the rod down to see it was not screwed in but he didn’t respond. Super disappointed in the accusatory, rude remarks and baseless and circumstantial claims via text.
