  Beware!!!!! This company is NOT a repair service. The only thing they’re concerned about is selling you a whole new unit!! They’ll go as far as to sabotage your current unit, and claim that you need a new one. I called them regarding my heat exhaust fan needing replacement. They sent a “technician”, however he’s truly a salesman. He said yes the exhaust fan has went out, but that I also have a cracked heat exchanger. He showed me a “flame” test using a household bic lighter to “prove” the heat exchanger was cracked. No mirrors, no flashlight, just a lighter. Then he said by law, he has to disconnect the gas going to the unit when a cracked heat exchanger is found. He DID NOT disconnect the gas. He unplugged my compressor disabling my AC as well!!! He knew that it would be 85 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night during this time of year. He rendered my entire unit useless. At this point he told me a new unit was necessary. That it would be the same price to fix the heat exchanger as it would be to replace the unit and my best option is to purchase a new unit. Then he sat in the van for over an hour claiming he was waiting for quotes from his manager on new units. He returned with quotes as high as $6,900 and as low as $4,200. I discovered later that a new heat exchanger is no where near those prices. $1,200 at most with the unit I have. He charged me a service fee and labor totaling $119.50. 5min of labor… Several days later, after discovering what this guy had done, and dealing with a hot house during mid day. I called the company and requested a refund. They keep giving me the run around… basically denying me the refund….. I took the time to write this review to save anyone else the trouble I’ve went through with this company. It’s not about the money at this point, it’s about the principal specifically. THEY’RE CROOKS!!!! Make sure you’re calling a true repair service. Not this company!!!

  We are new customers to Five Star the air conditioner was installed by them for a previous owner. That was not an issue, they sent a great guy out to see what the problem was with our air conditioner, he quickly resolved the issue. Thanks for great customer service. Georgia

  Several months ago I had a tech from 5 star come to my residence. He was very patient and established an issue I was having would be best resolved by replacing the unit. He tested multiple different ways and then showed and explained to me so I could also understand. It was obvious he was not "rubber stamping" the "Unit needs to be replaced" on the paperwork and leaving to go make more money. If I were rating the company by this visit alone it would be clearly 5 stars (No pun intended). But because after I purchased a new unit, I called to get a tech out to install and a message was left for the supervisor who schedules the techs and I didnt hear anything for a week and a half. I then called back and the secretary looked me up and saw where she took the message and gave it to him. Again, I have yet to hear from him and this was 3 months ago. I had to move on to another company due to the lack of correspondence on 5 Stars' behalf. Theres no way of knowing how much money this supervisor is costing their business but I'm not calling them again.
